Washington, D.C.-- Congressman Paul A. Gosar, D.D.S. (AZ-09), issued the following statement after cosponsoring a bipartisan resolution supporting Israel’s right to defend itself against Hamas following the heinous attack by the terrorist group:

“Today, I joined 390 of my colleagues and cosponsored a bi-partisan resolution condemning the brutal attack by the Iranian-backed terrorists.   In 2011 and 2012, two amendments I authored passed the House of Representatives prohibiting funds to Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood and Hezbollah.   My amendment ratifying Israel’s right to defend the sovereignty of its borders also passed the House of Representatives.  

I fully support Israel’s right to self-defense following the invasion by Hamas, who entered Israel’s borders and senselessly slaughtered hundreds of innocent victims, including at least 14 Americans,” stated Congressman Gosar.

Background:

Congressman Gosar is a member of the bipartisan Congressional Israel Allies Caucus.  He is an ardent supporter of Israel and has taken numerous actions to support this nation during his time in Congress.
