The Year in Review
Happy New Year!🎆
As 2025 comes to a close, I want to thank you for the privilege of serving you and wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year. This year delivered major victories for Arizona, conservative principles, and America First priorities. Below are a few highlights from 2025.
January
I opened the 119th Congress by introducing H.R. 34, the LASSO Act, which strengthens Social Security by directing revenue from responsibly managed public lands into the Trust Fund—while unlocking domestic energy production. Had it been law in 2023, it would have reduced Social Security’s shortfall by billions.
I was also proud to see my bipartisan VETS Safe Travel Act signed into law by Joe Biden, granting free TSA PreCheck to severely injured and disabled veterans.
President Donald Trump was inaugurated as the 47th President of the United States, marking the beginning of a renewed America First agenda. In contrast, Joe Biden exited office by issuing reckless, partisan pardons that undermined trust in our institutions.
February
I reintroduced the Stop the Censorship Act to reform Section 230 and end Big Tech’s immunity for silencing lawful political speech. Americans do not lose their First Amendment rights online.
I also reintroduced the Downwinders Parity Act to finally correct a decades-old injustice by extending compensation to radiation victims in Mohave County and southern Nevada.
March
I advanced an all-of-the-above energy strategy by reintroducing legislation to expand wind and solar development on public lands in La Paz County while sharing revenue with states and counties.
I also introduced legislation to end the Optional Practical Training visa loophole, which undercuts American workers and graduates by incentivizing cheap foreign labor.
April
I voted for the No Rogue Rulings Act to rein in activist judges blocking President Trump’s agenda, and introduced legislation requiring taxpayer-funded NGOs to disclose their donors.
May
I proudly voted for President Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill, which secured the border, cut taxes, eliminated wasteful spending, strengthened Medicaid for Americans—not illegal aliens—and delivered historic relief to working families and seniors.
June
To combat the fentanyl epidemic, I reintroduced legislation imposing the toughest penalties on traffickers whose drugs kill Americans. I also introduced the Protect RAIL Act to crack down on organized cargo theft tied to transnational criminal networks.
July
I introduced legislation to delist the Mexican wolf, putting Arizona ranchers and rural communities first, and again voted to advance President Trump’s economic agenda. I am especially pleased that the One Big Beautiful Bill included my legislation reauthorizing the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (RECA) and corrects an administrative oversight in the RECA Act of 1990 that arbitrarily excluded areas of Mohave County, Arizona.
August
The Department of Justice announced that, thanks to legislation I fought to include in federal law, Downwinders in Mohave County can begin applying for compensation under the expanded RECA program. Claim forms for Downwinders under the amended RECA are available by clicking here.
September
I helped secure $8 million in federal funding to replace a failing elementary school in Yuma, AZ. I also introduced legislation to restore Congressional oversight of Washington, D.C., to protect public safety and the rule of law. Additionally, I introduced bills to reverse abusive national monument designationsthat lock up Arizona lands and resources.
October–November
Senate Democrats shut down the government for 43 days, costing the economy billions and hurting working families. Republicans kept fighting to reopen the government—and ultimately prevailed.
I also reintroduced legislation to mandate the removal of criminal aliens, restoring law and order to our immigration system.
December
I introduced legislation to impose a 10-year immigration moratorium until our borders are secured and our system is restored. Our immigration system is overwhelmed and unmanageable thanks in large part to the previous administration’s open border policies, poorly vetted asylum claims, and visa overstays. We cannot maintain a lawful immigration process when we cannot control our borders or account for who is entering our country.
Finally, the Senate passed my La Paz County Solar Energy and Job Creation Act, unlocking land for energy development, job creation, and economic growth in western Arizona. I look forward to President Trump signing it into law any day now.
It’s a Wrap: Final Thoughts
As 2025 comes to a close, the American economy is proving what conservative, America First leadership can deliver. Thanks to President Trump and Republican policies in Congress, inflation is down, mortgage rates are easing, and families are finally seeing relief after years of uncertainty caused by Joe Biden. Strong GDP growth, rising wages, and robust job creation reflect an economy that rewards work, innovation, and private enterprise—not Washington overreach. Tax relief passed by Republicans, combined with increased tariff revenues that hold foreign competitors accountable, is helping strengthen our fiscal position while putting more money back in the pockets of hardworking Americans. Together, these policies are improving affordability—from groceries and gas to housing and healthcare—by lowering costs, stabilizing prices, and restoring economic confidence as we head into 2026 with a clear focus on growth, fiscal discipline, and opportunity for all.
As we look ahead to 2026, it remains the greatest honor of my life to serve and represent you in Congress, and I am deeply grateful for the continued trust and support of the people I am privileged to serve in Arizona's Ninth Congressional District. Thank you!
