Happy Veterans Day!
This week, Americans celebrated Veterans Day to honor the brave men and women who have worn our nation’s uniform and defended the freedoms we cherish. Their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication embody the very best of America. To all our veterans—thank you for your service, your strength, and your enduring commitment to our country. May we never take for granted the peace and liberty you have secured for us all.

Schumer-Gallego-Kelly Shutdown Finally Ends
This week, after 43 days of senseless disorder and delay, eight Senate Democrats finally had enough and joined Republicans in ending the Democrat government shutdown. The Democrat shutdown was nothing more than an embarrassing political stunt to stall President Trump and Republican momentum. For more than six weeks, Democrats blocked every effort to reopen the government and used hardworking Americans as, in their own words, political leverage. The Democrats’ shutdown cost the economy tens of billions of dollars, delayed and canceled tens of thousands of flights, and hurt innocent American workers for nothing other than scoring political points with their base. According to Airlines for America, an estimated 5.2 million travelers have had flights disrupted over the course of the Democrat government shutdown. And airport travel will likely not return to normal operations for days after the CR becomes law. The Democrat shutdown deprived more than one million government workers of their paychecks and cut off food stamp benefits from millions and millions of Americans in need. Economists estimate that the cost of the Democrat shutdown has been approximately $15 billion a week. 43 days or 6.2 weeks of shutdown x $15 billion/week loss to GDP = $93 billion loss to GDP. In the end, Democrats voted in favor of a budget that was nearly the same terms that Republicans offered back in September. It’s a shame that so many Democrats, including Arizona Senators Gallego and Kelly, could not bring themselves to vote to fund the government and keep our families safe and fed.

⚠ Warning!! The Gosar Weekly Newsletter is meant for discerning readers with above-average intelligence. We link to interesting stories. We get stories a couple different ways: Google alerts, a third-party aggregator and sometimes readers send stuff. We don’t vouch for every publication or every author. If we link to a story, it is because of that story. The views expressed in any of the publications do not represent any promotion, endorsement or reflection of Congressman Gosar’s views. While we try our best, we cannot guarantee every news organization spouting hatred, animosity or divisiveness will be filtered from appearing in the Gosar Weekly Newsletter. We will endeavor to prevent that from happening by never linking to Fake News organizations including CNN, MSNBC, CNBC, Rolling Stone, the Arizona Republic, the Arizona Mirror, Media Matters or the New Republic.
