Washington, D.C. – Congressman Paul A. Gosar, D.D.S. (AZ-09) issued the following statement after reintroducing H.R. 6057, the Criminal Alien Removal Clarification Act, legislation that reaffirms and strengthens the federal government’s authority to deport non-citizens who have been convicted of serious crimes, specifically any one felony or combination of two or more misdemeanors.
“For the past four years, the Biden Administration welcomed nearly 20 million lawbreakers into our country, including violent criminals, straining our immigration system. Now our communities are demanding accountability.
My legislation makes it unmistakably clear that criminal aliens have no right to remain in the United States. If you are a guest in this country and choose to commit a felony—or repeatedly break our laws—you forfeit the privilege of staying here. Period.
This bill restores commonsense enforcement and protects American families by closing loopholes in current law, reinforces existing removal standards, and ensures that dangerous criminal offenders who are not U.S. citizens cannot remain in our communities.
Americans should never have to live in fear because our laws are inconsistently enforced. This is about standing up for the rule of law, defending our neighborhoods, and making sure that lawbreakers are held fully accountable,” stated Congressman Paul Gosar.
