Today, U.S. Congressman Paul Gosar, D.D.S (R-AZ) released the following statement regarding the full vote by the U.S. House of Representatives to hold U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress. This vote is the result of continuous delays by Holder and the Department of Justice to release subpoenaed documents from the reckless Operation Fast and Furious.

Today, the U.S. Supreme Court announced its decision to uphold President Obama’s nationalization of our country’s private health care system. The constitutionality of the law was challenged on several grounds, including its justification grounded under the Commerce Clause. The Court ruled that the Commerce Clause would not support such a broad federal power grab, but, the Court also ruled that Congress had the power to nationalize healthcare under the taxing powers.

Today, U.S. Congressman Paul Gosar, D.D.S (R-AZ) authored a letter along with David Schweikert (R-AZ), Trent Franks (R-AZ), and Ben Quayle (R-AZ) to Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Director John Morton to reconsider the agency’s rescission of seven 287(g) Task Force Memorandums of Agreement with Arizona law enforcement agencies. ICE’s decision to terminate this agreement means the denial of much needed resources to local law enforcement agencies to assist in enforcing federal immigration laws.

Congressman Gosar Cosponsors No Budget, No Pay Act

Earlier this week, U.S. Congressman Paul Gosar, D.D.S (R-AZ) cosponsored the No Budget, No Pay Act (H.R. 3643). This common sense legislation simply states that if members do not pass a concurrent budget resolution and all 12 annual spending bills before the start of the fiscal year, they will not receive their official salaries.

The act included seven bills that would address the high energy costs hurting American families by investing in domestic energy, and creating thousands of jobs. Furthermore, the legislative package removes the federal government’s economic roadblocks that hinder on-shore oil, natural gas and renewable energy production in an effort to utilize the country’s full energy production potential.
