Gosar Remarks on Sham Impeachment

Today, U.S. Congressman Paul A. Gosar, D.D.S. (AZ-04) released the following statement after speaking on the House floor against the partisan impeachment sham:

"It is truly a sad day for America. Democrats have put their hatred of President Donald Trump above their love for our Country. My colleagues continue to invoke the Constitution as cover for their shameful actions. These very same colleagues who deride the Framers as racist, old, white men.

The Constitution is only as good as the people that support it. Today, the Democrats undermine it with their frivolous actions. My colleagues claim “No one is above the law” but throughout the sham impeachment, they have blown right through any accountability for their illegal actions.

Whether its releasing private phone records, restricting minority witnesses and hearings, violating the rules of the House, or covering up corruption in Ukraine, they should be ashamed.

Never before in American history has a President been impeached by a single political party after failing to prove any crimes were committed. Democrats know they can’t beat Donald Trump fairly in an election, so they need to rig it in their favor – they’ve even said so in December of 2016 before the President took office.

Why are they so afraid of President Trump? Are they worried about what we’ll find behind Door #1—the FISA Court, we know how that is starting to turn out. Or is it Door #2 – the corruption in at the FBI, DING DING DING, we’ve got another winner, and it isn’t a good winner. Maybe is it Door #3 – the Intelligence Services, or could it be Door #4 – the State Department. Maybe it’s Door #5 – Draining the Swamp: business as usual in Washington DC. Maybe it was the misconduct of the previous administration that they are looking to cover. Maybe its all of the above. It was the weaponization of the government against the People.

I am proud to stand in support of President Trump, who has done exactly what we elected him to do.

The last thing I will say: Remember, Remember, the names of those who voted to impeach President Trump today, and don’t let them forget what they did."
