Rep. Gosar on Iranian Nuclear Agreement: Once Again It's Amateur Hour at the State Department FLORENCE, ARIZ. - Congressman Paul A. Gosar, D.D.S. (AZ-04), issued the following statement in regard to President Obama's proclamation of an agreement with Iran about its nuclear ambition: "It's unfortunate that President Obama caved to the historically-false assurances of the Iranian regime. This agreement will not end Iran's nuclear program or ensure peace. It does, however, validate Iran's claim to nuclear weapons. "At no point did the President obtain any assurance that Iran will not use its weaponry to 'wipe Israel off the map' as promised by the Islamic regime. The President failed to obtain the release of Christians held prisoner in Iran, including Pastor Abedini, who has been imprisoned for over a year. "The President agreed to lift effective sanctions and received nothing of value in return. "Once again, it's amateur hour at the State Department. "I stand with Israel and its right to self-defense. That is why I continue to push for passage of H.Res.98, which reaffirms Israel's right to protect itself." BACKGROUND: |
