FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: June 6, 2011 CONTACT: Hannah Loy 202-225-2315 Natural Resources Committee Announces Hearing on Gosar Jobs Bill H.R. 1904 Prescott, AZ –U.S. Congressman Paul Gosar, DDS (AZ-01) released the following statement after the House Natural Resources Committee officially announced that a hearing will be held on Tuesday June 14th regarding H.R. 1904, the Southeast Arizona Land Exchange and Conservation Act of 2011: “I am very pleased that the Natural Resources Committee has taken swift action and scheduled a hearing on H.R. 1904, the Southeast Arizona Land Exchange and Conservation Act of 2011,” Rep. Gosar said. “This legislation will get Arizonans back to work and our economy back on track. It will directly create over 1,000 jobs, indirectly support over 5,000 jobs, and have an estimated yearly economic impact in the state that will exceed $800 million, while significantly helping the United States meet the growing demand for copper with domestic resources.” “I would like to thank both Chairman Hastings and Chairman Bishop for recognizing the importance of this legislation to my district, the state of Arizona, and our country,” Rep. Gosar continued. “This initiative has languished far too long. I am confident I have put together legislation with bipartisan support that will pass through the House of Representatives quickly and efficiently. Although legislation regarding this matter has been introduced by members in the past, this is the first hearing in the House of Representatives since November of 2007. The legislative hearing is the first step in the legislative process towards passage by the House.
