The hearing is entitled, “Evaporating Prosperity: How Federal Actions Are Driving Up Water and Power Costs, Threatening Jobs and Leaving Arizonans High and Dry.” With bureaucratic red tape increasing prices, Congressman Gosar remains committed to providing abundant water resources, clean and cheap hydroelectricity, and regulatory certainty. Representative Gosar was the driving force in penning a letter detailing the lack of forest management and pending federal regulation, which could close the Navajo Generation Station, as leading examples of federal roadblocks to water security and an affordable power supply in Arizona. The letter, signed by a majority of Arizona’s Congressional Delegation, requested that this field hearing be held to address the impact of federal actions on water and power rates. .
