Statement from Representative Gosar on Death of Sheriff Dever

U.S. Congressman Paul A. Gosar (R-AZ) released the following statement after learning of the fatal accident involving Cochise County Sheriff Larry Dever.

My wife Maude and I send our condolences to the Dever family, our thoughts and prayers are with them. Cochise County and Arizona lost an experienced and outspoken public servant who fought to keep our community safe.” Sheriff Dever served 34-years as a Cochise County law enforcement veteran. He was elected to his first term as Sheriff in 1996, following a distinguished 20-year career working in the trenches of Cochise County law enforcement. Entering the profession as a deputy in 1976, Sheriff Dever rose through the ranks from sergeant to major before successfully seeking political office and being re-elected to a fourth term in the year 2008. |
