Today, U.S. Congressman Paul Gosar (R-AZ) voted in favor of the Repeal of Obamacare Act (H.R. 6079), to cease President Obama’s nationalization of American health care via what the U.S. Supreme Court determined to be a tax.

              Representative Gosar on His Vote to Repeal Obamacare

                                     “This Tax Must Not Stand!”

Today, U.S. Congressman Paul Gosar (R-AZ) voted in favor of the Repeal of Obamacare Act (H.R. 6079), to cease President Obama’s nationalization of American health care via what the U.S. Supreme Court determined to be a tax.  The repeal of Obamacare would over the next ten years protect the economy and jobs by averting an increase of $800 billion in taxes, preventing a half trillion dollars in cuts to the Medicare Advantage program in order to fund the rest of this law, and also preserving the patient-doctor relationship. The successful passage of the legislation by 244 to 185 is the 33rd vote of the 112th Congress to defend or repeal this law.

Upon the passage of the legislation Gosar said, “I was proud to cast my vote again today to repeal Obamacare. This law must go! The American people have said loud and clear time and time again that they do not support Obama’s disastrous healthcare takeover and burdensome tax increase.  The court’s designation that this is a tax furthers my resolve to protect Arizona families and businesses against it.  Having served Arizona in Washington D.C for just a year, fighting big government's constant attacks on our great state, I can say without a doubt that imposing Washington’s dysfunction on the health care system will be devastating to patients and flat line our economy.”

“As a healthcare provider, I know that the results of Obamacare on our system of healthcare and on the overall strength of our nation would be devastating.  We must repeal and replace this government takeover with a patient centered, comprehensive plan which empowers consumers - not bureaucrats.”
