              Rep. Paul Gosar Introduces Bill To Ensure Justice For “Downwinders”
                         The Mohave County Radiation Compensation Act of 2013  

U.S. Congressman Paul A. Gosar, D.D.S (AZ-04) introduced the Mohave County Radiation Compensation Act of 2013, H.R. 424, legislation intended to ensure that residents of Mohave County, who may have been exposed to radiation poisoning from nuclear weapons tests between 1952 and 1962, are compensated. 

“From the moment the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act was first passed, to when it was later amended, a portion of Mohave County was unjustifiably left out,” Rep. Gosar said. “This common-sense solution would make sure that everyone in the county who has seen his or her health deteriorate as a result of such radiation is rightfully recognized and paid.” 

On March 1st, 2013, Congressman Gosar held a press conference in Kingman, Arizona to announce his legislation and give a platform for those, known as “Downwinders,” exposed to weapons testing radiation. Mohave County Supervisors Gary Watson and Joy Brotherton as well as representatives from the Downwinders of Mohave County organization joined Congressman Gosar in support of the bill.
