Today, U.S. Congressman Paul A. Gosar, D.D.S. (AZ-04) released the following statement after the Secretary of Homeland Security, Jeh Johnson, announced that he will travel to Nogales, Arizona on June 25, 2014, to visit the facilities housing detained illegal immigrants: “I have called on this Administration countless times to end their flawed immigrant transfer policy and I hope this trip to Nogales will spur Secretary Johnson to do exactly that. Additionally, I demand that Secretary Johnson and the Department of Homeland Security answer the numerous questions I have asked about these policies and procedures. The American people have a right to know the legal statute being used to carry out immigrant transfers and if such actions violate federal law.” Congressman Gosar sent a letter to Secretary Johnson on June 13, 2014 requesting additional information regarding the transfer of illegal immigrants to numerous states including Arizona.
