  Rep. Gosar: Department of Justice Scandals Far From Phony 

 U.S. Congressman Paul Gosar, D.D.S. (AZ-04) spoke on the House floor today to call attention to Attorney General Holder’s disregard for the rule of law and the lives lost under Operation Fast and Furious. This floor speech is the third in a series of speeches highlighting the violations of the law made by the Attorney General.

Earlier this year, Congressman Gosar re-introduced his Resolution of No Confidence (H.Res. 35), which expresses no confidence in Attorney General Holder and calls for his resignation. The resolution currently has 137 cosponsors in the House of Representatives.

TRANSCRIPT:

Mr. Speaker, I rise today to address truly disturbing comments President Obama made during his hour long speech on July 24th. 

He mentioned and I quote “an endless parade of distractions and phony scandals,” as if to belittle the significance of these stories.

Well, there’s nothing phony about the deaths linked to the Attorney General’s Operation Fast and Furious.

Beside me is a photo of blood running through the streets of Mexico – the blood of high school students murdered by guns Holder’s DOJ sold to Mexican drug cartels. 

This massacre is far from “phony,” Mr. President.

Brian Terry, the border patrol agent murdered by violent criminals who Holder’s DOJ gave the guns to, is definitely, I repeat, definitely not “phony.”

These deaths are real.

What else is real? Attorney General Holder’s violations of the law and the ramifications of which are far from “phony.”

As Supreme Court Justice Brandeis said, “In a government of laws, the existence of the government will be imperiled if it fails to observe the law scrupulously…. If government becomes a lawbreaker it breeds contempt for law: it invites every man to become a law unto himself. It invites anarchy.”

I ask you, has the Attorney General invited anarchy?
