Rep. Gosar: Attorney General Holder Failed to Seek Justice

U.S. Congressman Paul Gosar, D.D.S. (AZ-04) spoke on the House floor for the second time in two days to shed light on Attorney General Eric Holder’s failure to seek justice. This floor speech is the second in a series of speeches listing the violations of the law and other transgressions made by the Attorney General.

Earlier this year, Congressman Gosar re-introduced his Resolution of No Confidence (H.Res. 35), which expresses no confidence in Attorney General Holder and calls for his resignation. The resolution currently has 137 cosponsors in the House of Representatives. Rep. Gosar penned an op-ed that appeared in the Washington Times today entitled, "The short-cut king at Justice: Convenience, not the law, is the Eric Holder way."

Below is the video and transcript of Rep. Gosar’s floor speech.

TRANSCRIPT:

Mr. Speaker, I rise today to shed light on Attorney General Eric Holder’s less than glamorous tenure as Attorney General.

As the chief law enforcement officer of our nation, Mr. Holder is expected to govern by the principle of seeking justice.

As a sworn federal official, he has one primary job – to enforce the laws of the United States fairly and impartially.

It is for this reason that Lady Justice wears a blindfold.

The blindfold represents objectivity, and that justice should be dealt out without fear, favor or partiality.

How come Mr. Holder dispenses his version of justice partially?

How come the Attorney General overlooked actual injustices and with disregard for the rule of law?

As Supreme Court Justice Brandeis said, “In a government of laws, the existence of the government will be imperiled if it fails to observe the law scrupulously…. If government becomes a lawbreaker it breeds contempt for law: it invites every man to become a law unto himself. It invites anarchy.”

I ask you then, has the Attorney General Invited anarchy?

I will continue to make my case here in the People’s House and at the People’s Pulpit.

Folks, I will be back.
