Rep. Gosar Votes to Protect Taxpayers with “No More Solyndras” Act

Today, U.S. Congressman Paul A. Gosar (R-AZ) released the following statement after the House passed the “No More Solyndras” Act (H.R. 6213), which effectively phases out the Department of Energy’s loan guarantee program and protects taxpayer’s from bearing the costs of failed loan guarantees. This legislation was drafted as a response to the 2009 Solyndra solar-plant manufacturer that received a $535 million dollar loan guarantee in stimulus money, but then went bankrupt.

“The American people are tapped out.  Every hard earned dollar the government takes from them means less for their families,” said Congressman Gosar.

“In addition to meaningful cuts in spending the least we can do is be good stewards of the money we do collect. The use and abuse of taxpayer money to benefit political allies is absurd. I was sent to DC to stand against business as usual and supporting this bill is a step in the right direction."

Congressman Gosar is committed to cleaning up and stopping the waste, fraud and abuse in Washington, D.C. More information on can be found on his website at Gosar.house.gov
