Congresswoman Bachmann Joins Gosar’s Resolution of

No Confidence in U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder

Marking 100 Co-Sponsors

Today, U.S. Congressman Paul Gosar, D.D.S. (AZ-R) announced Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (MN-R) has co-sponsored his Resolution of No Confidence in U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder (H.Res. 490).  With Congresswoman Bachmann, the resolution now has 100 co-sponsors. The resolution states “It is the sense of the House of Representatives that Congress has lost confidence in the Attorney General of the United States.”

Congresswoman Bachmann stated, “Today I joined 99 of my colleagues in publically proclaiming that we have lost all confidence in Attorney General Eric Holder, through my cosponsorship of House Resolution 490. I thank Congressman Gosar for leading the effort to expose the Attorney General’s failed leadership in his post. I have long believed that Attorney General Holder is inadequate for his position. I actually called on him to resign in 2010 because of his missteps on Wikileaks and the handling of the underwear bomber. Operation Fast and Furious is the latest failure by Attorney General Holder and I believe our nation deserves better.”

Gosar noted this important milestone while expressing his resolve to continue fighting for those directly affected by this operation, specifically those who have lost their lives and those who continue to live in harms way.

“I thank Congresswoman Bachmann and the other 99 members of Congress who have signed onto my Resolution of No Confidence in Attorney General Holder.  Attorney General Holder continues to withhold requested documentation and answers about the gunrunning operation, Fast and Furious, from the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, which I sit on, but my colleagues and I are not deterred and will continue leading the fight for answers,” stated Congressman Gosar.

Gosar went on to relay a message to Attorney General Holder: “The American people have lost confidence in you as Attorney General.  I will fight to bring this resolution to the floor and I will not let up in my pursuit for answers about Operation Fast and Furious until satisfied that we understand how this happened, hold those responsible accountable and ensure nothing like this will ever happen again.   You should comply with outstanding document requests and resign in order to bring confidence back to the office of Attorney General.”
