Congressman Gosar’s Statement on Arizona’s December Unemployment Numbers
Washington, DC,
December 15, 2011
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: December 15, 2011 CONTACT: Apryl Marie Fogel, aprylmarie.fogel@mail.house.gov Congressman Gosar’s Statement on Arizona’s December Unemployment Numbers Today, Arizona’s Department of Administration reported the state’s unemployment numbers dropped to a three-year low of 8.7% last month. Arizona employers added 10,200 nonfarm jobs last month. More than 80 percent were in the private sector. "I am encouraged by the fact that unemployment in Arizona has dropped but know we still have a long way to go to get our state and nation back to work. As a small businessman I know that it's the will, hard work and ingenuity of the people that create jobs not the government or government officials. That said, the US House of Representatives have sent over 30 bills that would stimulate our economy and cut job killing government regulation to the US Senate. Included is my bill the Southeast Arizona Land Exchange and Conservation Act of 2011. This exchange is the first-step of a mining project that will support over 3,700 jobs equating to more than $220 million in annual wages. These are private sector jobs, not government jobs that rely on taxes." ### |
