Congressman Gosar Praises Passage of the JOBS Act and the Legislative Success of the Arizona Delegation

Congressman Paul Gosar (AZ-R), issued the following statement after voting in favor of the Jumpstart Our Business Startups (JOBS) Act, financial services-related legislation that overwhelmingly passed the U.S. House of Representatives.

“I am proud to support this strong bipartisan bill, which will improve access to capital markets for small businesses and create jobs.   At a time when partisan politics has stalled over 30 job creating bills in the Senate, it is nice to see bipartisan, common sense solutions come to the table.

I am proud to be part of an Arizona Republican delegation that enjoyed significant legislative success this week.  On Wednesday, my hydropower and rural jobs bill passed the House with bipartisan support.  Today, both Congressmen David Schweikert and Ben Quayle each had their own legislation incorporated into the JOBS Act package.  Our Arizona team is working diligently to spur economic development and create jobs in our state and throughout the country.”

The House approved H.R. 3606, the Jumpstart Our Business Startups (JOBS) Act, by a bipartisan vote of 390-23.  This legislation was comprised of several individual and bipartisan House bills that will encourage job growth by removing some regulations impeding small businesses and startups.

On Wednesday, the House passed the Tipton-Gosar bill, the Bureau of Reclamation Small Conduit Hydropower Development and Rural Jobs Act of 2012 (H.R. 2842), by a bipartisan vote of 265-154.  This bill will spur rural economic development and increase production of clean, renewable hydropower by removing bureaucratic overregulation.  More information can be found here.
