The Marine Corps Birthday Ball will be commemorating the 70th Anniversary of the Attack on Pearl Harbor and the 60th Anniversary of the start of the Korean War (also known as the "Forgotten War") Saturday, Nov. 5, from 5-10 p.m. at Torreon Golf Club in Show Low. Veterans from all branches of the service along with local military organizations, citizens and business owners will welcome guest speaker Bob Chastain, PFC, USMC 1943-1945 (Carlson's) Raiders. The 87-year-old retired Ray Schools Superintendent, State Representative and State Senator from Kearny, will share his experiences during WWII as a Raider. Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet Maude Gosar, wife of U.S. Congressman Paul Gosar, (R-CD-1). The Mother of three is a small business owner in Flagstaff where the family resides. Mrs. Gosar brings us a special message from Washington, D.C.
