WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Congressman Tom Garrett (R-VA) penned an op-ed published in The Hill calling for a repeal of the obscure McCarran-Ferguson Act which exempts the heath insurance industry from federal antitrust laws. Congressman Gosar has spearheaded H.R. 372, the Competitive Health Insurance Reform Act, legislation that would amend the McCarran-Ferguson Act in order to restore competition and lower the cost of health insurance for consumers.
