Internships

Interning in a congressional office can provide invaluable work experience to students and recent college graduates. Read below for more information on how my office handles the internship process. If you have additional questions, please contact my Washington, DC office at (202) 225-2315.

Application Deadlines:

  • Spring 2024 Internships – December 20, 2023
  • Summer 2024 Internships - March 1, 2024
  • Fall 2024 Internships - July 19, 2024

Please note: Applications may be considered on a rolling basis; applicants are encouraged to apply prior to the above deadlines. In some instances, late applications may be accepted for fall or spring internships. Late applications will not be accepted for summer internships.

Washington, DC Internships:

Internships in my Washington, DC office run throughout the fall, spring and summer semesters. Washington, DC interns generally work Monday-Friday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm when Congress is in session and from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm when Congress is out of session, but the hours can be flexible to accommodate students' course schedules.

Interns will be asked to take on a variety of responsibilities. Both Washington, DC and district interns may be asked to perform a variety of office tasks, including answering phones, running errands, and responding to constituent inquiries. Washington, DC interns may also be assigned to research legislation for the Member and legislative staff and attend hearings and briefings.

District Internships:

Internships in each of my district offices run throughout the fall, spring and summer semesters. District interns generally work part-time, and the hours are flexible to accommodate students' course schedules.

Interns will be asked to take on a variety of responsibilities. Both Washington, DC and district interns may be asked to perform a variety of office tasks, including answering phones, running errands, and responding to constituent inquiries. District interns may also be assigned to assist with constituent casework and other district-based projects.
