Gosar to Biden and Senate: No WHO Pandemic Treaty
This week, I joined several concerned Representatives and Senators at a press conference to draw attention to the latest effort by Joe Biden to further erode American sovereignty.
You may recall that President Trump rightfully removed the United States from the corrupt World Health Organization (WHO). However, Joe Biden foolishly reversed that decision. Now the WHO’s governing body is meeting next month to ratify a pandemic treaty that would direct the WHO to declare a public health emergency in a nation, including the United States, even over the objections of that nation. I have received hundreds if not thousands of letters from constituents expressing concern that the United States may soon further succumb to the WHO.
Let’s not forget that the WHO embarrassed itself in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. It cozied up to China and fell for China’s lie that COVID-19 was a myth while the virus continued to spread. In fact, if the WHO had taken the virus seriously earlier, lives could have been saved. Instead, the WHO scared people into not seeing their doctor, not taking effective therapeutics, and taking deadly vaccines. Worse, countless deaths ensued.
As a doctor, I can tell you that Americans should never allow any international body to dictate their healthcare choices. Unelected globalists with power over America's healthcare would have our Founders rolling in their graves.
Joe Biden should not sign, and the Senate must reject this badly flawed agreement. In fact, rather than expanding the breadth of the WHO, it should be eliminated altogether.
Gosar Adds Name to Motion to Vacate
This week there was a vote for what is known as a “rule vote” for Ukraine funding. I opposed the rule, which is not usually done, but I opposed consideration of the legislation to send $61 billion more taxpayer dollars to Ukraine (more on this later in the newsletter), I had enough and added my name to a resolution in support of a motion to vacate the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives.
This was not done lightly, nor does it reflect any personal animus towards Speaker Mike Johnson. Rather, this is about protecting America and holding true to repeated promises that were made to secure the southern border, of which 11 million illegal aliens have crossed since Biden took office, before any more funding for Ukraine.
Yuma, Arizona is on the border and in my congressional district. It is ground zero for the invasion, and it is getting pummeled by the surge of lawbreakers. The border should not be an afterthought. Theseillegal aliens have brought violent crime, deadly drugs, human trafficking and are depleting resources and services meant for U.S. citizens. In fact, every state has become a border state. Communities across this country are being ravaged, families are being destroyed and Americans most in need are being ignored.
We need a Speaker who puts America first rather than bending to the reckless demands of the warmongers, neo-cons and the military-industrial complex making billions from a costly and endless war half a world away.
Speaker Johnson's defenders claim we have to pass Democrat bills because we have a very narrow House majority. They also claim we don’t have the votes to advance conservative priorities. Frankly, that is total hogwash. Senator Schumer has a narrower majority in the United States Senate, yet he gets everything and then some. Plus, it was Speaker Johnson who supported voting to expel Representative Santos, who has not been convicted of anything, while Schumer protects Senator Menendez, who has been charged with corruption in office. The "slim" majority was made slimmer by Speaker Johnson's reckless approach to Representative Santos' removal.
In the past six months, Congress under the guidance of Speaker Johnson, has raised the debt limit with zero spending restraint, passed a budget that exceeds any budget ever advanced by Speaker Pelosi, reauthorized a spy program that trashes the Fourth Amendment and allows the FBI to spy on American citizens without a warrant, and this week passed legislation sending another $61 billion of your dollars prolong a war the United States has no business being in while ignoring our wide open border. There is no way to sugar-coat this: beyond any measure, the Speaker has capitulated to the Senate and our country is paying a heavy toll.
What next? The decision to call the motion to vacate to the House floor for a vote can only be made by Representative Taylor Greene, who first introduced the resolution last month. Should she do so, the House must act within two business days. I’ll be sure to keep you updated.

Gosar Votes Against $9 Billion Funding Bill for Hamas Terrorists
I make no apologies for my unwavering support of Israel and its right to defend itself. As our strongest ally in the Middle East, it is in the vital interest of the United States to stand together with Israel against a rising tide of extremism. In fact, last November, I voted for H.R. 6126, the Israel Security Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2024, legislation the House of Representatives passed that provided Israel with $14.3 billion in funding. Importantly, the cost of this bill is fully offset by rescinding $14.3 billion for the Internal Revenue Service made available in the phony “Inflation Reduction Act” to hire 87,000 new IRS agents to harass hard-working Americans. But guess what, Chuck Schumer and the Senate Democrats refused to consider this bill.
In contrast, this week I voted against H.R. 8034, legislation that purportedly provides emergency supplemental funding to Israel, and let me explain why. Of the $26 billion, only a portion is actually set aside for Israel’s security. Worse, $9 billion goes to “humanitarian needs” in Gaza. Guess who controls Gaza? Hamas. Yes, that Hamas, the same Iran-backed terrorist group that attacked Israel on October 7, killing 1,400 Israelis and 35 American citizens. To date, 13 Americans are still being held hostage by Hamas. Because Hamas controls Gaza, the entire $9 billion will be redirected for more terrorist activities in the region. Folks, we are quite literally funding both sides of the war. $9 billion for Hamas and not a single dime is paid for. Speaker Johnson made it essentially impossible for me to vote for the bill.
Gosar Honors the Life of Pat Tillman
Also this week, I spoke on the House floor to honor the life of Pat Tillman. April 22, 2024, marks the 20th Anniversary of Pat’s tragic and untimely death at the young age of 27 years old.
Pat was a star NFL linebacker, breaking the Arizona Cardinals’ tackle record. Prior to that, he was an amazing stand-out at Arizona State University. After the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, Pat and his younger brother, Kevin, answered the call to serve and enlisted in the United States Army.
He was first deployed to Iraq in 2003 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, but returned to Fort Benning, Georgia to complete Ranger School. In 2004, Pat embarked on his second deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
On April 22, 2004, in Sperah, Afghanistan, Pat was tragically killed by friendly fire. He was awarded the Silver Star and Purple Heart for making the ultimate sacrifice. Let us never forget his patriotism, leadership and call to service.
On the 20th anniversary of the untimely death of Pat Tillman, my prayers are with the Tillman family, our nation’s Gold Star Families, and all United States service members answering the call to serve. May God be with you all.
Senate Dismisses Mayorkas Impeachment Case
This week, liberal New York Senator Chuck Schumer and the Democrat-controlled United States Senate voted to kill the two articles of impeachment against Department of Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas. There was no trial, no evidence presented and no debate allowed.
You will recall back in February I shared faithful Gosar Newsletter readers that the House of Representatives, with my support, voted to impeach Mayorkas for failing to uphold and execute our immigration laws and repeatedly lying to Congress and the American people.
Following the vote to impeach in the House of Representatives, the Senate was required to conduct a trial and present the facts on the impeachment articles brought against Mayorkas. Nope, didn’t happen. For the first time in the history of our country, the Senate refused to hold a trial. Why? Texas Senator Cruz perhaps summed it best by noting: “They [the Democrats] don’t want to hear about the children being abused…the women being raped…the terrorists coming into this country or the criminals who are murdering Americans every week.” If you ask me, I’d say Schumer is covering for Biden and hiding the evidence caused by his failed open border policies.
Gosar Votes Against More Spending on Ukraine
Also this week, I joined 112 Republicans in voting against a measure to send another $61 billion to Ukraine. Unfortunately, 210 Democrats joined 101 Republicans in voting in favor. America is in a ditch and too many in Congress refuse to find the will to address the long list of issues ailing our nation. I’m angry that Congress and Joe Biden don’t hesitate to find another $60 billion for a corrupt country but are unbothered that inflation is 19% higher since Biden took office, gasoline is hovering around $4 a gallon nationwide, 11 million illegal aliens have poured into our country, interest rates for a home mortgage are 7 to 8%, our roads and bridges are in disrepair, our national debt is $34 trillion and growing, real wages are in decline, parents have to decide between feeding their children or putting fuel in their automobile and we have a growing veteran homeless crisis in every corner of our country.
I have voted against every dime wasted on the war in Ukraine and have repeatedly called for peace. This time it is no different. To say that I am very unhappy that these politicians seem to want to help every single country except America is an understatement. I am beyond angry. It’s long past time we put America first.
📬 It’s Mail Time!
I received dozens of letters this week regarding my decision to support the motion to vacate and I appreciate hearing from everyone, including those who disagree. I shared my thoughts on this earlier in the newsletter and I will have much more to say in the weeks ahead. Thank you to everyone who wrote in. Here are a few letters I received:
📨 Michael M. from Goodyear, AZ writes:
I would like to let Rep. Gosar know that I believe voting to vacate the Speaker's seat is NOT a good idea.
✏ Michael, all things being equal, it is not a good idea to change horses midstream. I warned my colleagues that removing Speaker McCarthy would cause irreparable harm and that unfortunately came true. But Speaker Johnson has essentially partnered with the Democrats. He ignores the will of the Republican majority and has focused on passing Democrat priorities while ignoring key promises he made.
We can do so much better. I think we need to try.
📨 David E. from San Tan Valley, AZ shares (in part):
Thank you. We need someone with backbone. We need to fix our problems first, this mess can be blamed on Biden's foreign policy, border policy, and the people in Congress that want more wars that do nothing but take soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines’ lives and for what? We need to save our country.
✏ David, you are 100% correct. Our own country wallows in crime, massive fentanyl deaths, rampant inflation, and failing institutions and infrastructure. We need every dollar here at home. We have no business supporting a war against Russia and propping up a corrupt Ukrainian regime.
📨 Duane B. from writes:
✏ I support you fully. You are taking the correct stand for America. Stay strong, stay focused and stay safe.
Thank you, Duane. Your support means a lot to me. I fight for you and America.
📨 Beverly Blackburn from Apache Junction, AZ adds:
Even if another Speaker is put in, he can only do what Congress agrees to do. I do think it's sad that they care more about others than their own country. I'm not saying to not help other areas of the world, but charity begins at home. Thank you for all you do.
✏ Beverly, you have a pretty good understanding of the dynamics at play. Your sentiments are spot on. Thank you. It's an honor to be your congressman.
📨 Jenifer S. from Kingman, AZ shares:
Please extend my thanks to Congressman Gosar for his persistent efforts in fighting for the American people. Rep. Johnson has been a disaster as Speaker as he seems more interested in placating Democrats and advancing Biden’s agenda rather than putting America first. Mr. Gosar is a fantastic representative and I really appreciate all that he does.
✏ Jenifer, I could not have said it better. Your support makes my day. God bless you and the good people of Kingman.
