Sham January 6th Committee Destroys Even More Evidence
You may recall last month that I wrote about the House of Representative’s January 6th Committee’s failure to preserve all records related to their sham investigation of the events that occurred on January 6, 2021. At the time, I noted that my colleague, Representative Loudermilk, confirmed that the J6 committee destroyed the videotaped depositions of witnesses. These videotaped depositions are key in charging certain witnesses with perjury.
Well, it turns out that the evidence destruction is far more than anyone knew. This week, Congressman Loudermilk shared that the J6 Committee also deleted 117 encrypted files just days before the new Republican majority took control of Congress rather than hand them over to Republicans. Thankfully, Republicans have been able to recover the deleted files but guess what: they are password protected and guess who won’t provide the passwords: Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger and the democrats who served on Pelosi’s sham J6 Committee. What are they trying to hide?
By the way, you may be asking why I refer to the J6 Committee as a sham committee? This is a rhetorical question for the Fake Media such as the AZ Republic who troll my weekly newsletter. The J6 Committee is invalid because then-Speaker Pelosi refused to seat the five Republicans members chosen by then Leader Kevin McCarthy to serve on the committee. As a result, the committee was operating without a contingent of members appointed by the minority party and it was nothing more than a partisan political charade. That is also another reason why the subpoena’s issued by the J6 Committee have no legal standing. House rules for subpoenas and depositions require consultation between majority and minority members, which was impossible because the J6 Committee had no formal GOP-appointed members.
From day one, I have called the J6 Committee illegitimate and unconstitutional. The American people deserve transparency. I also recently conducted a poll asking readers if Congress should investigate and seek criminal charges against members of Congress serving the J6 Committee for destroying evidence? Nearly 98% of respondents replied that the J6 Committee is a sham and all Members who served on it should be investigated.
I continue to call on Speaker Johnson to establish a January 6th Truth and Reconciliation Committee to investigate the members of the original January 6th Committee who perjured themselves, lied to the American public, withheld key evidence, and engaged in a massive cover-up.
Supreme Court Guts 10th Amendment
Earlier this week, in a 5-4 decision, the United States Supreme Court ruled that Joe Biden could use the Border Patrol to remove the barbed wire installed by the state of Texas along the Rio Grande near Eagle Pass, TX to prevent illegals from pouring across the southern border. More than 10 million illegal aliens have entered the United States since Biden took office, yet he continually opposes any effort by Texas Governor Abbott to keep the illegals from entering its state. Texas Attorney General Paxton rightfully calls the Biden administration’s stance an “illegal effort to aid the foreign invasion of America.” With this order the Supreme Court put a knife to the 10th Amendment to the United States Constitution, which states “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States.” Further, Article IV Section 4 states: “The United States shall guarantee to every State in the Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against an Invasion.” Joe Biden is constitutionally mandated to execute faithfully the laws. Yet, he has chosen to ignore the law and allow chaos and crime on the border.
Texas has a clear and historic right to uphold its laws especially when the federal government is working with drug cartels on the largest human trafficking operation in history. In fact, Article I, Section 10, Clause 3 of the Constitution states: “No State shall take action unless actually invaded, or in such Imminent Danger as will not admit delay.” Texas has been invaded. As has Arizona and the entire country. Governor Abbott has vowed to defend its borders even as Biden has “violated his oath to faithfully execute immigration laws.” To his credit, Governor Abbott has ordered his national guard to continue installing barbed wire. In solidarity, governors from 25 Republican states announced their support for Texas Governor Abbot. Many are deploying their national guard troops to Texas to assist in its efforts to reinforce the southern border. Americans are sick and tired of Biden’s destructive open border policies. I stand with Texas and Governor Abbott’s efforts to keep our borders safe.
Arizona Republic Hides From Its Critics
Speaking of Fake News, very few people read the Arizona Republic/Arizona Central anymore (for good reason: it fired actual reporters and hired left wing activists pretending to be journalists). It recently took a revealing step about its operations.
First know this: Arizona’s largest paper has a daily readership of 67,510 and a Sunday readership of 95,663. For a state of six million people, such paltry numbers reflect how out of tune it is with Arizonans and how poorly it has been managed. By comparison this weekly Gosar Newsletter you are reading has 145,000 subscribers and an extraordinarily high open rate.
Dare I say more people read the Gosar Newsletter than the state's largest newspaper? One reason for this is because I bring you the unvarnished truth. Like it or hate it I just tell you what's really going on. The Republic, by contrast, believes its mission is to create a narrative and to stop anyone from so much as challenging that narrative. Creating narratives is essentially propaganda. That's why you will see a consistent theme with that organization: stories about democrats, socialists, war to defend other countries' borders, deviancy and debauchery, illegal aliens and drug cartels will be positive. Stories about Republicans, law and order, peace, enforcing our own border security, Christianity and traditional families will be negative.
This brings us to the current censorship regime now implemented by this organization. It has disabled, and will no longer allow people to write comments to their left wing agitprop. The Republic limply offered this excuse: "While we continue to believe in the importance of comments, we had to make the hard choice to move away from the space due to changes in staffing and the time investment necessary to bring you a safe, moderated and productive discussion space. We’re not willing to risk discussions veering off track or people being verbally attacked."
First, how rich is this? A newspaper that veers off track more than an East Coast Amtrack is worried its readers might "veer off track." And a newspaper that routinely threatens Republicans and "verbally attacks" only Republicans suddenly sees a downside to their incitement to violence. Rest assured the weak-minded EJ Montoni will launch another verbal attack on me soon because I live in his mind. Every time he spews his filth and vitriol my office can count on getting another death threat. Suddenly, they are concerned about safety? More than likely, they don't want their own readers pointing out their lies, misrepresentations, disinformation and agitprop.
Considering the Republic's retreat from letters and comments I invite you to send me a letter. As you know I read them and share a couple in every newsletter, even the hate mail. (Scroll down!!)
And if you know anyone who fails to get the Gosar truth delivered weekly, share this subscriber link here. I want to quadruple the Gosar Newsletter’s circulation by the end of the year. And it comes to you free without annoying popup ads and will never link to the AZ Republic.
One final thought: It's a shame this paper has fallen so far. Our state needs a large, independent and honest newspaper. Maybe one day it will hire real journalists not democrat activists who want to "shape" the news and create leftist narratives. There are other reliable news sources such as Cactus Politics, the Arizona Daily Independent, the Arizona Sun, the Maricopa County Briefs, and more.
Here is my comment to the Republic since I can't leave one on their site: you had this coming. Your demise is completely self-inflicted.
Retired FBI Agents Warn of Probable Terror Attacks Due to Open Border
While you don’t have to be an FBI agent to figure this out, it helps. This week, several retired agents penned a letter warning about the probability of a domestic terror attack. They note the millions of military age men that have been escorted into our country by the Biden regime. Indeed, just last week one known terrorist was interviewed by the media who threatened that soon Americans everywhere will “know” his name. The Biden regime poses a clear and present danger to our country. It is inviting millions and millions of people here, none of whom are vetted, none of whom come here legally, and hundreds of whom want to engage in terrorism. We need to start deportations before there is a major attack.
It Is Past Time to Impose the Death Penalty on Fentanyl Dealers
The numbers are staggering. Our open border has allowed not just 10 million illegal aliens into our country in the last three years, it has also allowed a record amount of drugs, including fentanyl. And these drugs have now led to record deaths.
The CDC reports that in 2023 the overdose death rate topped 112,000 people in a 12-month period for the first time in U.S. history. As noted by the House Budget Committee, “these record-breaking numbers are not only shameful, but they are inextricably linked to the overwhelming volume of dangerous illicit drugs that the White House has allowed to flow through the southern border—costing Americans not only their blood, but their treasure too.”
Every day, 306 Americans die from fentanyl poisoning. Every hour 12 people die from fentanyl poisoning. In short, every five minutes one our neighbors or family members across the country will die from fentanyl poisoning. The fentanyl is made in China, processed in Mexico, and then easily carried across our wide open border, where it is sold as counterfeit drugs that appear like Tylenol, Adderall, and a variety of other legal drugs.
From 2001 to 2021, we lost 7,054 U.S. soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. During the Vietnam War we lost 58,281 U.S. soldiers. We lost 36,516 U.S. soldiers in the Korean War. In all of these major wars, spanning 70 years, we lost a combined 101,851 soldiers. By comparison, fentanyl killed more Americans, 112,000, in just one year, 2023. A similar amount died of fentanyl poisoning in 2021.
I have pending bill in Congress that would impose the death penalty on fentanyl dealers. My friend in the Arizona Legislature, Rep. Quang Nguyen, has several bills that would increase the jail time for fentanyl dealers. One is the Ashley Dunn Act, which would impose between 10 and 25-year jail terms for fentanyl dealers who caused a death. These reforms are needed if we are serious about reducing the deaths from fentanyl poisoning.
In addition to increasing the penalties, I will be voting to impeach Secretary Mayorkas. His job was to enforce U.S. laws and seal our border. He refuses to do his job. The aim is to remove Mayorkas from the job he is not doing.
One thing is clear. If we continue as is, we will continue to have 100,000 Americans, or more, die every year from fentanyl poisoning. This is not acceptable.
Gosar Urges Alternatives to Cruel Dog and Cat Experiment Testing
I love animals, especially dogs. And while I appreciate that some animal testing in scientific experiments can be an important tool in scientific research to understand diseases and help develop new drugs that cannot be replicated by other means, I am very concerned about efforts by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) conducting taxpayer-funded experimentation on dogs and cats. According to the White Coast Waste Project, the NIH is the largest funder of cruel dog and cat experiments, some of which involve severe pain and suffering that is intentionally unrelieved. In response, I recently joined several bi-partisan members of Congress urging the NIH stop the painful and cruel experiments on dogs and cats. Taxpayers should not be funding cruel animal labs that hurt puppies and kittens!
Gosar Attends Veterans Stand Down in Wickenburg
Last weekend, I had the privilege to attend the Veterans Stand Down in Wickenburg. Stand Downs are a wonderful community-based events that provide supplies and services to homeless Veterans, such as food, shelter, clothing, health sreening and VA benefits counseling. I am grateful to all who attended to help address the many challenges our Veterans face. You can learn more about the Wickenburg Veterans Stand Down by clicking here.
Right as Rain: Uncle Sam Needs You
This week, my wonderful staff visited with the National Weather Service command team in Las Vegas. That office covers a wide region including all of Mohave County. When you get weather alerts on your phone, or you check your weather app, that information comes from these guys. They run a lean operation and provide reams of important data for airports and air traffic controllers, emergency responders and transportation departments, outdoor festivals, commuters, TV and radio stations, mariners (including Lake Mead) and they do it on time and well. Thank you to Marcus Austin and his team of meteorologists and engineers for this amazing tour.
Did you know that the oldest weather station in Arizona was the Fort Mohave station? This station, first operated in 1859, was closed due to a lack of volunteers. So, I am asking the good people in Fort Mohave: do you want to volunteer to check a weather station in Fort Mohave and send the data to the team in Las Vegas? They need the help. The government will provide to you the weather station. They will need you to report the barometer, temperature, precipitation and other data points to on a daily or near daily basis. The more information they collect the more accurate their predictions will be.
If you want to volunteer, send me an email to rep.paul.gosar@mail.house.gov and I will pass it on to the weather service team. Thanks in advance for your help.
It’s Mail Time!
I receive thousands of letters each week and I appreciate hearing from everyone. Here are samples of some of the letters I received this week:
Glen W. from Fort Mohave writes:
I just wanted to know if you voted to hold Jim Jordan in Contempt of Congress for ignoring a Congressional subpoena from the January 6th Committee. Just askin' for a friend.
Glen, as I noted above, unlike the House Oversight and Accountability Committee, the sham J6 Committee was not duly formed therefore the subpoenas have no legal standing.
Representative Jordan never refused to testify. He did, as was his right, request the democrat J6 Committee produce “any evidence mentioning his name and legal opinions concerning the committee’s authority before he would consider compliance.” The J6 Committee refused to respond and failed to produce any authority or evidence. Therefore, it was the J6 Committee that failed to comply with its obligations and, likely knowing it had no authority or evidence, quietly shirked into the shadows in shame and disgrace.
That is why Jim Jordan was never charged with contempt of a subpoena. He said he would in fact testify once the committee proved its authority. It could not. It did not. And Mr. Jordan is a free man today, walking around Washington D.C. like a champ!
There is your “friend’s” answer!
Michael N. from Buckeye shares:
I received an email stating the ACP program may end soon without additional funding from congress. After working for 52 years of my life and now barely able to make ends meet this is slap in the face to say the least. It seems that the government has more than enough funds (that never run out) to help the illegals entering our country but nothing for us who were born in the USA, now senior citizens and paid taxes all our lives. Please stop this nonsense! I am 71 years old and as many seniors like me and we need all the help we can get. Thirty dollars a month that helps cover a portion of our much-needed internet is a drop in the hat. I am asking for your help in this matter.
Hi Michael, the purpose of the Affordable Connectivity Program, or ACP as you note, is to supply internet connection and infrastructure access, including subsidies for broadband service, laptops, tablets, and other necessities for surfing the web, in areas without a historical lack of access to the internet. During the COVID pandemic, congress temporarily created the ACP and appropriated $14.2 billion for program when mandatory lockdowns were common. By law, the ACP is scheduled to sunset on February 7 unless Congress provides additional taxpayer subsidies for the program. I certainly agree Congress should prioritize senior citizens (and all Americans for that matter) over the illegals entering our country. I will also note that Congress and the Biden administration have also wasted more than $110 billion dollars fighting a proxy war in Ukraine. Just imagine how many rural homes could be connected had those dollars not been wasted on illegals and wars? My congressional district is very rural and I understand that the lack of broadband access can be very troublesome to many seniors in rural communities that rely on the internet for telehealth and medical services. Sadly, the Biden administration and Congress’ reckless spending spree have left our country in fiscal state of crisis.
Here is what I will do: I will continue to vote against funding billions for war in Ukraine. I will vote to reduce or eliminate other foreign aid programs, UN programs, NATO and the billions spent delivering illegal aliens to our country and then paying for their transportation, health care, cell phones and internet, education, job search, food and housing.
Wouldn’t it be amazing if our government took care of our senior citizens the same as the illegal aliens? Maybe our seniors should fly to Mexico and then catch a bus to the border and see about the free food, free housing and free internet?
In all seriousness, this is a shameful time in America. Your current government despises you, the taxpayers and citizens. The Biden regime, working in tandem with drug cartels and Marxists, has prioritized everyone but seniors like you. We need to clean house this year.
Ann B. from Surprise writes:
I don’t know what immigration bill is being worked on behind closed doors but it must be fully disclosed and made available to the public before any vote. Vote NO if it gives working papers to any illegal immigrant. Vote NO if allows some to stay. They must all be immediately deported and sent back. The only path to come to this country is legally. These illegals have no intention of following our laws. Look at the recent report out of New York City on how they are using unlicensed and uninsured mopeds to deliver food and earn hundreds of dollars tax free every week. They are using their free iPhone and applying to be bicycle delivery, then they use these unlicensed mopeds. They continue to break the law by driving in bicycle lanes, driving in the wrong direction and not wearing helmets as required by law.
Dear Ann, last year, the House of Representatives passed H.R 2, the toughest border security ever to be voted on. Yet Senator Schumer has blocked the bill in the Senate. Now the Senate is drafting a bill that would provide a pathway to citizenship to millions of illegal aliens already in America.
The term “pathway to citizenship” is Marxist terminology that means massive and unprecedented amnesty. Do not be fooled by this. Over 10 million illegal aliens have been brought in to our country by the leftist democrats in just three years. This is in addition to the 30 million already here.
A “pathway to citizenship” means 40 million new democrat-socialists. Our country will be forever changed. These illegal aliens do not share our values or respect our culture. Their very first act is to violate our laws.
All 40 million illegal aliens should be deported. We can deport 10 million a year. By the end of Trump’s next presidency we could have it done.
Senators want to couple the bill with billions more to fund a proxy war in Ukraine. And guess who supports it? Joe Biden, Senator Schumer, Senator McConnell. Guess who opposes it? Me. And President Trump, who called it a “another gift to radical left democrats.” Thankfully, over the weekend, House Speaker Mike Johnson said the Senate border deal is “dead on arrival.”
