Gosar Receives Champion of Limited Government Award
This week, I received the Champion of Limited Government Award from the Institute for Legislative Analysis for being one of the Top 20 in the entire Congress most aligned with the limited government principles of the U.S. Constitution. The ranking was based on over 100,000 votes taken; the most expansive study performed on the U.S. Congress.
One of my top priorities in Congress has been to rein in the size and overreach of the federal government and protect the constitutional freedoms of the people I represent in Arizona. I’m honored to receive this recognition and will keep fighting every day to defend limited government and protect free markets, property rights, individual liberties and equal application of law – core tenets of limited government.

District Highlights: Gosar Attends Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at Hoover Dam
It was a busy week in the district. I had the privilege earlier in the week to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony for the grand reopening of the Hoover Dam Visitor Center. If you haven’t been recently, you should visit the Hoover Dam. The Visitor Center has undergone a significant remodel of its exhibit level, culminating in the introduction of new interactive exhibits designed to enhance the overall visitor experience. The newly remodeled exhibit level transports visitors back to the 1930s, showcasing what it was like to work on the construction of Hoover Dam through engaging and interactive displays. The renovation modernizes the facility while continuing its commitment to education and engagement for all visitors.
District Highlights: Gosar Meets with Hualapai Tribal Council Members
This week I also had the honor to meet with Hualapai Tribal Council Members including Chairperson Duane Clarke to discuss a wide range of topics important to Indian Country.
Following our meeting, I was invited to Grand Canyon West on the Hualapai reservation at the west rim of the Grand Canyon including a walk on the Skywalk for some spectacular views beyond the rim of the Grand Canyon at 4,000 feet above the Colorado River. If you have never been to the Skywalk, do it. It’s an amazing experience you will never forget. I am incredibly grateful to Chairperson Clarke and the “People of the Tall Pines” for taking time to meet and look forward to working with the Hualapai to advance their priorities in Congress.

District Highlights: Gosar Tours Local Mines
Later in the week, I caught up with my good friend, Craig Wiita, and other mining leaders to tour a local mine. Mining is significant to Arizona’s economy by providing thousands of well-paying jobs while helping ensure that America has secure and reliable supply chains and abundant and affordable energy. I’m very excited about the future of mining in Arizona and appreciated the chance to visit with Craig this week.
Surprise Police Department Needs Your Help
Rioters protesting the mass deportation of illegal alien criminals recently looted a business and blocked access to a hospital in my district in Surprise, Arizona. The socialist rioters engaged in "reckless criminal behavior, directly interfered with access to a nearby hospital, affecting patients needing emergency medical care" according to Surprise Police Department.
Multiple news reports note that dark money from leftist groups aligned with the Democratic Party are fueling the violent anti-ICE riots. Federal officials say left-wing non-profits and activist groups may have supplied riot gear and logistical support to the rioters, some of whom were charged with attempted murder and looting.
Worse, taxpayer funding is being used to fund these violent protests. For example, the Coalition for Humane Immigration Rights of Los Angeles, or CHIRLA, has received $34 million in taxpayer funding and has been accused of providing “logistical support and financial resources to individuals” involved with violent rioting.
Unfortunately, over the past decade, taxpayer-funded groups have increasingly played a role in facilitating woke policies including supporting actions involving illegal aliens. You may recall a few months ago I introduced H.R. 2841, the Putting Trust in Transparency Act, legislation that requires nongovernmental organizations that receive federal funding to publicly disclose their donors.
Rather than serving impartial and legitimate initiatives, these leftist groups all too often fleece American taxpayers of hundreds of millions of dollars by engaging in advocacy efforts, including violence, to advance their politically motivated schemes. The American people have a right to know how their money is spent.
Here in Surprise, Arizona the Arizona Daily Independent reports that “Acts of violence, looting, and organized criminal behavior will not be tolerated in our city. These actions threaten the safety and security of our residents, businesses, and critical services,” the Surprise Police Department posted on Facebook.
Here is where you can help: the Surprise Police Department is calling on the public for assistance. If you witnessed the incident or have any information, photos, or video footage that can help identify those responsible, please contact the Surprise PD at 623-222-TIPS (8477) or email a tip to crimetips@surpriseaz.gov.
These acts of violence against law enforcement agencies, including ICE, cannot be tolerated, period. If you can help the Surprise Police Department, please do so.
