She will be greatly missed in the halls of Congress.  Our prayers are with her loved ones and the friends and family of her two staff members.Gosar Introduces Legislation Ending Big Tech CensorshipDid you know that Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act deputizes Big Tech to censor competition and lawful political speech, even affording immunity from legal challenges against anticompetitive conduct?  Big Tech companies like Facebook and Twitter have been caught colluding with the Biden regime to censor free speech and spread misinformation.  One needs to look no further than Big Tech’s censorship of multiple news reports, TRUE AND ACCURATE NEWS REPORTS, concerning Hunter Biden’s laptop.  Here’s a quick refresher of those efforts, as reported by the New York Post: “Twitter blocked the story from even being shared. Facebook hid the story. Politico said it might be “Russian disinformation.”This is an illegal deprivation of civil rights.  In response to the government’s repeated efforts to censor lawful speech, this week I introduced the Stop the Censorship Act, legislation that ends Big Tech’s censorship and propaganda protections and instead empowers users.  The Stop the Censorship Act makes commonsense updates to Section 230 that has not been updated for nearly 30 years.Click here to read my full press release and to learn more about the Stop the Censorship Act.Gosar Announces Grant for Drug Use and Mental Health TreatmentsThis week, I was pleased to announce that Creek Valley Health Clinic located in Colorado City, Arizona will receive a $500,000 grant from the United States Department of Health and Human Services to continue the vital role in caring for people with drug addiction and behavioral and mental health needs in a dignified, private, and successful way.  This critical funding could not come at a more important time and will help ensure that Creek Valley Health Clinic has the necessary funds to continue to improve rural behavioral health care services while offering hope to many more individuals struggling with emotional and psychological needs and want to recover.You can read more about this important grant by clicking here.Reckless Spending Is Crushing AmericansBidenflation is roaring across the country making it difficult for all of us to make ends meet.  Estimates of 17% inflation are record breaking.  Exorbitantly high gas prices are killing our family budget.  Food prices are also soaring, as are rents and home prices.  This is all due to the reckless spending of trillions of dollars by the Biden regime and his enabling democrats.  Joe Biden should seek to immediately reduce taxes and spending to start a recovery.  Instead, they are doubling down on spending and taxes, and we must now brace ourselves for a recession in full bloom with inflation getting even worse.I’ve received hundreds of letters this week asking me to oppose the laughably and ridiculously named “Inflation Reduction Act” that Senators Manchin and Sinema recently agreed to support after selling out to Joe Biden and liberal New York Senator Chuck Schumer.   I wrote about this extensively in last week’s newsletter, here’s a link to it in case you want to read it again.I assure you it will not reduce but will actually increase inflation.  Don’t take my word for it.  First the non-partisan Joint Committee on Taxation, then the Tax Foundation, and now the Heritage Foundation have all found that the Bidenflation scam will make middle-class families poorer. According to the new analysis from the Heritage Foundation, over half of the tax burden from the Bidenflation scam would fall on Americans making less than $200,000 per year.  In other words—the middle class.  And, according to the Joint Committee on Taxation, the Biden Tax Hikes will raise taxes on Americans making as little as $20,000 per year. Thanks democrats, for your latest efforts to destroy our economy in just 18 months.  You really know how to make a mess of things.The 2010 Tea Party movement was based on the simple premise that taxes were too high.  Biden doesn’t care.  Under this latest law they are pursuing most families will pay over $2,000 per year in additional taxes. Repeating the same mistakes over and over, but hoping for a different outcome, is a mental illness and the definition of insanity.  But that is what the democrats are doing.  You can be assured that I won’t be voting in favor of this massive tax and spending plan next week. Gosar Meets with Students from Desert Star Academy Middle SchoolOne of the most rewarding aspects of my job is having the chance to meet with students across my congressional district and share the importance of civics in education.  This week, I had the privilege of meeting the middle school students at Desert Star Academy in Fort Mohave.  These young adults are the next generation of leaders and I am confident that I spoke with a future congressman, senator or maybe even president!  Many thanks to Mohave County Supervisor Hildy Angius and Coach Frank Sagasta for the allowing me the opportunity to visit!Coffee is Served!I recently hosted another “Coffee with the Congressman” in Mohave County and a great crowd of patriots showed up for a cup of joe and a good conversation on the important issues that matter most!  Thank you to everyone who attended.  I enjoy hosting these intimate coffee meetings because they allow me the opportunity to meet directly with my constituents in a more personal atmosphere.  If you would like to receive information on my next “Coffee with the Congressman” please email me at AZ04.schedule@mail.house.gov.Gosar Opposes the Sale of American Real Estate and Land to ForeignersWe have all been reading a lot about Chinese businesses strategically buying up American farmland.  One likely reason: a probable attempt to spy.  Chinese companies and nationals have bought $1.9 billion worth of land in the U.S. consisting of almost 200,000 acres. The land of a recent purchase is located a short drive from Grand Forks Air Force Base in North Dakota.  Unlike in America, there exists no distinction between the Chinese government and “private” Chinese businesses.  That makes the trend to purchase land and real estate by the Chinese a major national security threat.
