Remembering Those Who Gave All
Memorial Day is the day to remember and pay tribute to the fallen heroes who gave their all so that we may enjoy America’s freedoms. Let us honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the preservation of our republic. We are so very grateful to all those who gave their lives for us and our values.
And while it may sometimes seem that many are trying harder than ever to take those freedoms away, I am thankful to God for the heroes who have died so that we can be free. On this Memorial Day, we remember them all. We know who they are.
We visit the cemeteries, place poppies and flags on the gravesites and note the dates of the ages on their headstones. Their lives shortened because of their courageous, selfless acts and willingness to die for all of us today and for the generations of tomorrow.
While sadness touches our hearts on this Memorial Day observance, our hearts are also full. Warmed because brave men and women were willing to give all. They will never be forgotten.
Have a wonderful and meaningful Memorial Day.
One Big Beautiful Bill Passes in House of Representatives
This week, House Republicans passed H.R. 1, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, a critical step in implementing President Trump’s America First policies and preventing the largest tax increase in American history.
Following the four disastrous years of the failed and corrupt Biden administration that created historic inflation, destroyed our economy and welcomed nearly 20 million illegal aliens into our country, I am very pleased to have voted in favor of this historic legislation.
This bill will secure our southern border and empower border patrol agents to deport the millions of illegal aliens welcomed into our country by Joe Biden. As a border state, Arizonans know all too well the heavy toll that Biden’s open border policy has taken on our great state. Crime has ravaged our neighborhoods, deadly drugs, especially fentanyl, have destroyed our families and our communities are withering under the economic strain on public resources needed to combat Biden’s border invasion.
Importantly, the One Big Beautiful Bill also strengthens and protects Medicaid by first helping those most in need of assistance - expectant mothers, our seniors, individuals with disabilities, and low-income families while ending taxpayer-funded free health care for 1.4 million illegal aliens.
The bill eliminates taxes on tips and overtime, slashes taxes on Social Security for seniors, reduces wasteful spending by $1.6 trillion, updates our air traffic control system, halts taxpayer funds going to abortion clinics, ensures our military’s readiness and unlocks America’s full energy potential.
Lastly, the One Big Beautiful Bill cuts taxes for families and hard-working Arizonans. My constituents voted overwhelmingly for President Trump last November and their message was resoundingly clear: do not raise our taxes! Without this much-needed legislation, the average taxpayer in my district would see a 23% tax hike. To put that into perspective, a family of four making a median income of $75,000 would see a $1,555 tax increase. That is worth about seven weeks of groceries for my constituents. There is not a snowball’s chance in hell that I will ever vote to raise taxes on hardworking families in Arizona.
Let me say it one more time: the One Big Beautiful Bill provides across-the-board tax relief to American households and businesses. Yet every Democrat voted against cutting taxes, securing the border, or protecting taxpayer-funded benefits for Americans who need them.
With the passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill, families can expect to receive $7,800 to $13,300 more in annual pay. The bill now goes to the United States Senate for consideration and then on to President Trump for his signing into law.

We are Making Progress, But We Have a Long Way to Go
The One Big Beautiful Bill is an important milestone this year for the reasons I explained above. In short, this bill makes important gains in addressing waste, fraud and abuse and providing much-needed relief to Americans.
Today, our national debt stands at $36.2 trillion. Because Congress has been spending far more than it takes in and, until now, has failed to meaningfully reduce spending for 50 years, the debt continues to grow. As I have mentioned in the past, it is difficult to explain the enormity of just one trillion dollars. For some perspective, if you spent $1 every second, it would take 31,000 years to spend a trillion dollars. If you spent $1 million every day, it would take 2,739 days to spend $1 trillion, or seven and a half years. If we stacked up one trillion one dollar bills, it would stack 67,866 miles high.
Congressional spending of all money raised by taxes in a year goes to mandatory entitlements including Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid and interest on national debt. The remainder of our budget spending, otherwise referred to as discretionary spending including military, national parks, agriculture, education, health and homeland security is paid for with debt. We borrow the money to fund all these programs. Like all borrowing, you must pay interest. We spend more on paying interest on the debt every year than we do on our entire military budget, more than $1 trillion this year alone.
I have been ringing the alarm, and working to head off disaster, regarding Social Security. Currently, Social Security’s trust fund is anticipated to run out of money in less than 10 years. Saving Social Security will take trillions of dollars. I will not support, and never have supported, any cuts to Social Security. Cutting foreign wars, and useless programs uncovered by DOGE, is where we start. Other cuts are necessary. However, let me be clear: all our promises to our seniors must be kept.
All three ratings agencies have downgraded our nation's credit rating. The most recent downgrade was Moody's, which last week joined S&P and Fitch in lowering the credit rating. This means higher interest rates and less money for programs. It is important that the U.S. dollar must remain as the global currency. This is propping up the value of our money.
In the short term, President Trump's recent trip to Saudi Arabia was far more important than people realize. Saudi Arabia has renewed its practice of using our U.S. dollar for oil trading and as the global currency for trade. Thus, all countries that buy oil from Saudi Arabia, which is probably most of the world, must do so in U.S. dollars. Trump made sure this system remains in place, because there is a global movement to get rid of the dollar as the global reserve currency.
The good news is that progress is being made, and the One Big Beautiful Bill was a great start. Congress is, for the first time in a long time and must continue to look at cutting waste, fraud and abuse, but we have a long way to go.
Gosar: No Taxpayer Money for Transgender Animal Experiments
Did you know that dozens of National Institutes of Health grants were issued during Joe Biden's administration that funded wasteful and disturbing experiments to create ‘transfeminine’ and ‘transmasculine’ lab animals using invasive surgeries and hormone therapies? The animals were wounded, shocked, injected with street drugs and vaccines, and subjected to other disturbing procedures. How sick is that?
President Trump has personally criticized these experiments on several occasions, and the Department of Government Efficiency has canceled millions in NIH grants funding transgender animal testing. However, many of these NIH grants funding gender transitions for lab animals are still active.
In response, I sent a letter this week to the Chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services and Education to prohibit transgender experiments on animals in its fiscal year 2026 appropriations bill. Taxpayer dollars should not be wasted to fund gruesome and inhumane transgender animal tests. This is not science. This is animal cruelty and abuse. Those who abuse animals have no place in our society.
Senate Report: Biden Officials Hid COVID Vaccine Risks
Following the subpoena for records related to COVID-19 vaccine safety data and communications from the Department of Health and Human Services, a damning Senate report issued this week shows that Biden administration officials knew about the potential heart-related complications caused by the COVID-19 vaccine yet downplayed the risks and actively “took steps to delay warning the public.” The report notes that Biden health officials were aware of significant reports of myocarditis in young people who receive the Pfizer vaccine but waited more than half of a year to make the side effects known on the vaccine’s label. Doctors who dared speak out about the risks of myocarditis caused by the vaccine were canceled, censored and ridiculed by the Fake News, Big Tech and Biden administration officials. For example, a Florida Department of Health epidemiologist had her tweet labeled as “misleading” while a cardiologist in Philadelphia had his Twitter account suspended for making observations about the risks that appeared in vaccine studies, according to the Senate report. Despite being aware of the risks, Biden administration officials peddled bogus talking points claiming that myocarditis from the vaccine was “rare.” The Senate report concludes by noting that “the full extent of the Biden administration’s failure to immediately warn the public about all COVID-19 vaccine adverse events must be completely exposed.” I wholeheartedly agree. Americans deserve full transparency about the safety and risks of the COVID-19 vaccine. With each passing day, more and more is being exposed about how widespread the corruption was in the Biden administration. Thankfully, President Trump’s Food and Drug Administration has ordered Big Pharma to expand the warning labels on COVID-19 vaccines about the risk of possible heart-related side effects linked to the jabs.
