President Trump has once again offered Speaker Pelosi the opportunity to come to the table and find a solution to combat this crisis on our southern border. Now that the government is reopened it’s time for Democrats to stop using innocent American lives as pawns and start negotiating border security. It’s time to end this nonsense!

Downwinders Awareness Day
I remain committed to correcting the injustice that was caused by the federal government during the Cold War. This week, I introduced legislation that will ensure justice for Downwinders. The Downwinders Compensation Act aims to provide partial restitution to victims who now have serious medical issues as a result of being exposed to nuclear fallout and radiation during government testing.

Trip to our Southern Border
This weekend, I joined eight other members of Congress at our Southern Border in Arizona for a two day border tour. We spoke with border patrol agents, ranchers and law enforcement officials. During our tour we heard first hand the destruction and dangers that comes with open borders and loopholes in our immigration laws.

Apprehensions at Border Increase
Our border patrol agents are stretched thin. The number of members of families illegally crossing the U.S. southern border is 280% higher compared to the same time last fiscal year, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection. During my trip down to the border last weekend, I witnessed first hand the how walls help border patrol agents in apprehensions. Right in front of our eyes, an illegal alien was apprehended.Thanks to the wall and cameras, border patrol agents were able to catch the illegal alien before he disappeared in to the interior.

Paying Their Fair Share
Earlier this week I voted against the NATO Support Act. The vote seems to have caught some people off guard, but for me, this was an easy vote. Despite the name, the bill had nothing to do with making NATO stronger, and everything to do with trying to embarrass the President. The support NATO needs right now, is from the European countries that refuse to pay their agreed upon dues. NATO is a membership organization comprised of wealthy European nations. It is wrong, immoral and a violation of the NATO charter for only the U.S. taxpayers to pay the agreed-upon dues and costs.
