Gosar Speaks at Arizona Mining Alliance
It’s district work period, which means I spent the week crisscrossing the Ninth Congressional District meeting with constituents, visiting businesses or touring companies. The highlight of the week was attending the Southern Arizona Business Coalition Spring Mining Alliance meeting in Tucson. I was grateful for the opportunity to attend and particularly want to thank Rick Grinnell for the thoughtful invitation to address the Alliance. President Trump has made it clear that we are going to unleash the golden era of American energy dominance. On his first day in office, the President declared a National Energy Emergency and directed the federal government to unleash our energy resources, including critical minerals. Under the misguided policies of the previous administration, America ceded our ability to extract, refine, and process critical minerals that are necessary for a vast array of modern technologies. Filling this vacuum, China has risen to dominate critical mineral supply chains worldwide. Instead of investing in resource development to combat China, the Biden administration chose to double down on their ill-advised climate policies, canceled or delayed countless projects across the nation, and further encumbered the federal permitting process. Due to the burdensome federal permitting process, companies that wished to extract minerals in the United States faced decades long timelines that made the development of natural resources nearly impossible to achieve. As American companies fight to break through the federal regulatory morass that has held domestic resource development back for far too long, Republicans in Congress are committed to working with the Trump administration to knock down barriers and unleash our true potential. The easiest way to do that is by amending underlying statutes including the National Environmental Policy Act and the Endangered Species Act to speed uppermitting applications for clean and fossil energy, transmission and forest management projects. I’m not advocating undermining or destroying important environmental laws. Instead, Congress must make reforms that remove the chokehold that decades of radical litigation have put on our ability to build and advance essential projects in this country. The bottom line is that with the Trump administration, there is new hope that the United States can unlock its vast supply of resources to expand mineral supply chains and ensure producers across the nation can conduct responsible mining activities especially on federal lands. Republicans in Congress are working closely with the Trump administration to ensure a future of mineral independence in the United States. The early movement around mining policy presents exciting and promising opportunities for U.S. mineral production; however, it will require Congress to continue with clear and consistent action for America to unleash our full mineral potential.
This Might Be the Worst Yet: DOGE Uncovers More Taxpayer Abuse
Please take the time to read this entire article that appeared this week in the Daily Wire. Yes, read every word. I’ll summarize it. This week, President Trump ordered the elimination of seven obscure federal agencies most people have likely never heard of, including the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, or FMCS. Turns out the FMCS employs around 250 people, most of whom spent millions of taxpayer’s dollars on endless junkets, expensive champagne, artwork, and jewelry. You read that right, jewelry. In fact, one employee spent $18,000 on jewelry while another spent taxpayer dollars to rent a storage unit to store a photo album of his pet dog. I’m not making this up. Another FMCS employee spent $85,000 on a call center, even though the company appears to not have a working phone. The list of outlandish expenditures goes on and on. As best I can tell, FMCS exists to serve no purpose other than to dole out random grants for liberal causes. Regardless of whether you are one of the many Democrats or even the woke, activist judges decrying President Trump’s efforts to expose and rid rampant waste, fraud and abuse, this article should shock even you! President Trump is right to shut down the FMCS.

Trump Deports Hundreds of Gang Members, Liberal Activist Judge Demands Their Return
This week, President Trump deported more than 250 violent gang members, including rapists, sex traffickers, robbers, kidnappers and murderers from Venezuela, all illegal aliens welcomed into our country by Joe Biden over the past four years. Shockingly, Obama-appointed woke activist U.S. District Judge James Boasberg ordered the Trump Administration to turn the aircraft around and return the gang members back to the United States and pause all future deportations for violent illegal aliens for two weeks. Judge Boasberg is completely wrong, and this ruling is an overreach. President Trump has every right to deport terrorists and violent criminals. These lawbreakers pose a grave threat to our citizens and no one in their right mind should oppose efforts to deport and get them out of our country. Thankfully, the judge’s order was issued after the planes had already been deported and were no longer in U.S. territory. President Trump and Border Czar Tom Homan have vowed that the deportation flights will continue.
Injunction Junction—What’s Your Function?
Speaking of activist judges, the federal courts have aggressively attacked the Trump Administration and in February alone 15 injunctions have been issued against President Trump. These legal challenges have attacked various executive orders, including birthright citizenship, federal funding freezes, and preventing transgenders in the military. Injunctions by the courts have traditionally been rare, temporary and limited to one plaintiff and one defendant They were never designed or used in the past to create a national policy.
No law authorizes nationwide injunctions. However, courts in recent years have just assumed the ability to do so. Federal judges are not elected, and they have no executive powers to run a country. President Trump was elected by a mandate to make these changes by over 77 million people. He is the chief executive and has the power to reduce fraud and waste.
The Supreme Court has not yet ruled on the scope of nationwide injunctions, though several justices have expressed skepticism about their validity. For example, Justice Thomas has explained: “No statute expressly grants district courts the power to issue universal injunctions. And historically, federal courts did not claim a power to ‘universally’ enjoin laws or policies.” He explained that “In sum, universal injunctions are legally and historically dubious. If federal courts continue to issue them, this Court is duty-bound to adjudicate their authority to do so.”
Let's hope the Supreme Court quickly addresses this judicial usurpation. If not, Congress can defund courts or attempt to impeach or remove federal district judges for misbehavior. Stay tuned.
