This Week with Gosar

Remembering Our Veterans
In honor of Veterans Day, thank you to all our Veterans! God bless you and your families for serving our nation and defending our freedoms and rights. This Veterans Day, I had the privilege of attending and participating in the Veterans Day parade and pancake breakfast this weekend in Surprise, AZ.
Congress Subpoenas Members of Biden Crime Syndicate
The House Oversight and Accountability Committee on which I serve issued several subpoenas to key Biden Crime Syndicate members and associates this week in conjunction with the ongoing investigation of Joe Biden’s involvement in his family’s corrupt business dealings.
As I noted in last week’s newsletter, the House Oversight Committee identified two checks from James and Sara Biden to Joe Biden that were funded by laundered China money and domestic influence peddling schemes.
This week’s subpoenas represent another step in holding Joe Biden accountable. House Republicans are committed to doing the oversight work that the American people expect and deserve. We will follow the facts and the evidence, leaving no stone unturned.
Gosar Votes to Censure Representative Tlaib for Anti-Israel Remarks
Approximately two dozen democrats joined nearly all Republicans in voting to censure democrat Representative Rashida Tlaib this week for her antisemitic remarks and sympathizing with terrorist organizations. I strongly condemn Representative Tlaib’s unbridled, hateful and antisemitic remarks yet hers, and sadly many on the left, are all too common since the horrific attacks by Hamas against Israel last month.
Gosar to Biden: Leave GCU Alone
This week, Congressman Eli Crane and I sent a letter to the Department of Education raising serious concerns regarding the Biden regime’s decision to impose a record-setting $37 million fine on Grand Canyon University located in Phoenix, Arizona, claiming GCU improperly advertised prices for its doctoral program.
GCU categorically denies these unsubstantiated allegations. According to GCU, the Department of Education purposely continues to fail to properly acknowledge GCU’s nonprofit status, long recognized by the IRS, the Higher Learning Commission, the State of Arizona, the Arizona Private Postsecondary Board and NCAA Athletics, so it can pursue crippling sanctions and fines against GCU.
GCU is being targeted for its religious views and for being the largest Christian university in the country. The Department of Education should recognize GCU’s lawful nonprofit status and end the targeted actions against the university.

More Evidence of Election Meddling: Feds Censor Conservatives in 2020
My colleagues on the Select Committee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government issued a damning report this week outlining how the federal government partnered with liberal Stanford University to censor conservative political speech leading up to the 2020 election.
Here’s how it worked: Stanford University worked directly with the Department of Homeland Security and created the so-called Election Integrity Partnership (EIP) to monitor and censor Americans’ online speech in advance of the 2020 presidential election. One problem, it lacked all integrity.
The report details how the federal government and Stanford partnered with Big Tech social media companies to censor true information and political opinions that benefited one side of the political spectrum. Guess which side? Turns out that truthful information posted by Republicans and conservatives was labeled as “misinformation” while false information posted by democrats and liberals was largely unreported and untouched by the censors. The bottom line is that the EIP disproportionately targeted Americans, candidates and commentators with conservative viewpoints and worked with Big Tech to censor the truth.
Who was censured you might ask? President Donald Trump, Sean Hannity, Charlie Kirk, Marjorie Taylor Greene, James O’Keefe, Newsmax and an untold number of conservative Americans. The Committee’s work proves once again that the federal government, funded by taxpayers, weaponized its agencies to target supporters of President Trump and the America First movement in the run up to the 2020 presidential election. Yet the left continues to refer to us as election deniers.

It’s Mail Time!
I receive thousands of letters each week and I appreciate hearing from everyone. Here are a sample of some of the letters I received this week:
Mike J. from Buckeye writes:
Israel funding is essential as is Ukraine and Taiwan. I disagree with Speaker Johnson wanting to defund the IRS to provide money for Israel.
Mike – I have to disagree with you. I have voted against every single dime spent on funding a proxy war in Ukraine and will continue to do so. Biden’s latest call for $105 billion more in aid to Israel, Ukraine, and Taiwan all lumped together in one massive bill was done because he knows support for subsidizing Ukraine’s corrupt war machine is losing popularity as more American are demanding to know where their taxpayer dollars are going.
I released a statement on October 20th making clear that I stand with Israel and want to help them in their time of need. However, if Biden wants to hold Israel hostage to throw more money at Ukraine so more Ukrainians can die, I want no part of it. We’ve given over $100 billion in assistance to Ukraine, and if we give more they’ll continue the war, rather than try and end it with a peace deal.
The Israel funding is a different story. American support for Israel has a long tradition. We know where our money is going and how it is being spent. Israel has clear and achievable objectives – Ukraine does not. I support aid to Israel, but not Ukraine.
It bears repeating: Ukraine is an authoritarian dictatorship that took power in a coup and has now adopted Nazi ideology. There is no way one cent of our tax dollars should go to the most corrupt regime in Europe. Reports of billions of dollars being stolen and funneled to enrich the oligarchs there have been posted for over a year. Ukraine has banned free elections, banned free press, banned all opposition parties and is virulently anti-Christian.
Sadie K. from Quartzsite shares:
I am asking that Representative Gosar add his name to the Ceasefire Now resolution led by Representatives Cori Bush, Rashida Tlaib, Andre Carson, Delia Ramirez, and Summer Lee, regarding the ongoing violence in Israel and Occupied Palestine. It is absolutely urgent that Mr. Gosar demand a ceasefire, and that they call on the Biden Administration to deliver humanitarian assistance to Gaza.
Sadie - The Palestinian civilians do not deserve their current situation. As sympathetic as I am to the innocent victims, the Palestinians in Gaza did themselves no favors by voting in favor of Hamas, a terrorist organization. I realize the Palestinians have not had an election since 2006. Even so, polls show if an election were to happen in 2023, Hamas would be likely to win a majority. I cannot begin to stress my opposition to Hamas. The United States has rightfully designated them as terrorists. They are an Iran-backed group with their charter coming nothing short of supporting a second Holocaust. I will not entertain solutions which do not allow Israel to live in their historic homeland and they certainly have the right to respond to an attack designed to destroy them. The October attacks were not the cry of an oppressed people asking for liberation. The rape and kidnapping of civilians and the butchering of babies didn’t lead to the liberation of anyone. It was a demonstration Hamas is not interested in peace, but the blood and suffering of innocents.
Israel should do everything in its power avoid hurting non-combatants. Right now, my biggest concern is ensuring we safely bring home every American-held hostage. I don’t want to see any innocent hurt, be they Israeli, Palestinian, or American. This was an escalation by Hamas and allowing them to attack without a response only empowers more violence from them.
Finally, understand this: every Palestinian who was alive on October 6th would be alive today if the Palestinian’s had not massacred 1,400 women and children on October 7th. There are consequences to actions. The lesson here is not a ceasefire but this: live in peace with your neighbors. If you attack your neighbors, they will be forced to attack you.
Valerie C. from El Mirage opines:
No cease fire and no money for Gaza, we should stand up for Israel, they did not start this war but God willing they will finish it. I give less than two shits about Gaza and their terrorist brethren. It is time America grow some balls and remember our history for without a strong America to fight this type of barbarism Europe would not have been freed from Hitler. Stop supporting terrorist and support American values - Hamas and the terrorist living in Gaza Strip do not share our values. They value guns and killing over people - we need to stand up for Israel.
Valerie – I agree!
