This Week with Gosar

Update on Speaker’s Race
This week, after three rounds of voting, Congressman Jim Jordan fell short of the needed votes and was removed from consideration of Speaker of the House of Representatives. I was proud to have cast my votes in support of my good friend, Mr. Jordan, to lead our country as the next Speaker and am disappointed with the results. The House has now gone 18 days without a Speaker. I have repeatedly said that this was not the time to have a Speaker’s battle. We have an economy suffering from Bidenflation, an invasion along our southern border, violent crime destroying our cities, a federal budget that has yet to be passed and two major global wars. It is time for House Republicans and Congress to unite around a conservative Speaker and get to work to solve the many problems ailing our nation. We will try again next week.
Gosar Opposes Biden Request to Jointly Fund Wars in Ukraine and Israel
This week, Mr. Biden gave a rare and incoherent speech to the nation to request more than $100 billion supplemental funding package for Israel and Ukraine. This situation in Israel is not the same as Ukraine and requests for funding must be debated and voted on separately.
It is a mistake to couple Israel funding with Ukraine funding. I will vote for necessary funding to assist Israel in its time of need but if it is combined with billions more for Ukraine, I will vote no. I have voted against every dime spent supporting the proxy war in Ukraine and I will not start now just because it is wrapped in an Israeli flag.

Biden to Send $100 Million to Hamas
Also this week, Biden announced he was sending $100 million in taxpayer money for “humanitarian assistance in Gaza” with the caveat the aid will stop “if Hamas diverts or steals the assistance.” If? Let’s be honest: this money will end up in the hands of Hamas and likely already has. Biden does not understand the fundamental nature of these terrorists. Wake up, Sleepy Joe. The scale and complexity of the barbaric Hamas atrocities on October 7th in Israel make it clear that significant financial resources were used for these attacks.
In response, I joined House Oversight and Accountability Committee Chairman Comer in sending a letter to USAID asking for documents and communications to assist the Committee in its oversight of the risk that U.S. aid funds are diverted to assist terrorist activities in Gaza and the West Bank.
More Evidence of Biden Corruption
The House Oversight and Accountability Committee, on which I serve, has been diligently investigating questions about how Biden personally benefited from the Biden Crime Syndicate’s shady influence peddling of his name and personal access.
This week the committee obtained bank records revealing a $200,000 direct payment from James and Sara Biden to Joe Biden in the form of a personal check. James Biden is Joe Biden’s brother. James received a $600,000 loan from a financially failing company that would later go bankrupt. According to the bankruptcy court documents, James Biden received these loans “based upon representations that his last name, ‘Biden,’ could ‘open doors’ and that he could obtain a large investment from the Middle East based on his political connections to Joe Biden.” On the same day James Biden received the loan, he wrote a $200,000 check to Joe Biden. If you think this seems fishy, that’s because it is! This raises new questions of corruption and scandal. There will be much more to come as the committee will continue to follow the money and deliver accountability that the American people demand and deserve.
Gosar Requests Investigation of Mexico’s Water Treaty Breach
This week I sent a letter to Interior Secretary Haaland requesting the Department of Interior investigate reports that Mexico has failed to meet its water treaty obligations.
Under a 1944 treaty agreement, the United States is required to provide Mexico with 1.5 million acre-feet of water every year from the Colorado River, while Mexico must supply the United States with 1.75 million acre-feet of water from tributaries of the Rio Grande River every five years.
The United States has complied with its treaty obligations, Mexico has not. This lack of adherence to the treaty is unacceptable. If Mexico continues to ignore its responsibilities, the United States should unilaterally remedy the breach and withhold Colorado River water from Mexico and store it in Lake Mead or distribute to users.

Gosar Hosts Academy Day for Interested Students and Parents
As your Representative in the United States Congress, I have the privilege of nominating a limited number of qualified young people to four of the five service academies each year.
This week I hosted my annual Academy Day to help interested students determine if an Academy or similar education path is something they would want to pursue. Over the years, this forum has become a valuable tool for interested students and their families to learn about service academies and other similar educational opportunities, and a useful first step in the process of obtaining a nomination to a service academy.
A packed room of very qualified applicants and parents attended. I am incredibly proud of the fantastic representation from our district at our prestigious military academies.
Many thanks to all the representatives from the Military, Naval, Merchant Marine, and Air Force Academies who shared presentations and answered questions from the students.
It’s Mail Time!
I receive thousands of letters each week from constituents. I appreciate hearing from everyone and do my best to respond. Here are a sample of some of the letters I received this week:
Edward S. from Litchfield Park writes:
Thank you for this quick update on plainly stating that supporting Israel is completely different than anything to do with Ukraine. NO additional funding to Ukraine! ALSO, NO funding for the Palestinians.
Edward, you bet. It is dangerous and immoral to equate the Ukraine situation, in which the U.S. supported a violent coup and installed a puppet regime still in place, with the savagery, antisemitism and genocidal aspirations and conduct by Hamas.
Ukraine caused the war by having its Nazi militias kill 14,000 Russians between 2014 and 2022. Israel, in my view, has repeatedly attempted to live in peace. It gets attacked by people who openly express genocidal motivation.
One country—Israel—is worthy of our support. Ukraine, on the other hand, is a belligerent, authoritarian government that messed with Russia and found out what that can cause. I have yet to vote for one dime for Ukraine and I won’t start now. I will be forced to vote no on any aid package for Israel if the warmongers and neocons supporting Ukraine package both deals together.
Mary Kay D. from Litchfield Park writes with much disdain:
I find Gosar’s incoherent statement claiming President Biden accepted $20 million in bribe money from Ukraine to be offensive and baseless. Before believing such an outrageous claim, I would need to see the evidence. Until that time, I want my taxpayer dollars—money that Gosar seems to think is his to do with what he wants—used, in part, to fund the ongoing effort in Ukraine. Further, his lack of respect for our sitting President is unacceptable and offensive. Clearly, Gosar needs an etiquette lesson.
Mary Kay—the only thing incoherent is Biden’s speeches and policies. This guy wrecked our country in 2.5 years. That has to be a record. He gave us open borders and eight million illegals bringing the number of illegal aliens in our country to about 40 million. Our cities crawl with homeless people, zombies hooked on drugs, and crime is skyrocketing. 200,000 American’s have died from fentanyl poisoning under his watch. Then there is inflation and an economy on life support. Globally there is war breaking out in three major areas (Ukraine, Israel and Armenia) while the global leaders laugh at Biden and his failed policies. Biden has made our country look weak and feeble everywhere. Our deficit has skyrocketed and the future for our children has never been worse.
As for Biden corruption you want “evidence?”
Here is a link to evidence provided by credible whistleblowers revealing Joe Biden’s connections to his son Hunter Bien’s business dealings.
Here are the links to payments to Hunter Biden for bribes from Ukraine.
Here is a link to Joe Biden bragging that he threatened to stop payment on billions in American taxpayer money to Ukraine if the president of Ukraine didn’t fire a prosecutor that was investigating the bribery of the Bidens.
Here is a link to the Oversight Committee’s evidence of multiple fake shell companies opened by the Bidens to hide transactions.
Here is a link to the $200,000 bribe directly paid to Biden via check.
Here is a link to the checks paid to the Bidens from Ukraine and China.
Here is a link to the 16 times Joe Biden lied about his family business schemes.
The evidence is overwhelming that the Bidens have been bribed by Ukraine and others. More evidence is forthcoming.
Mary Kay—Litchfield Park is beautiful and safe. Not everyone is as fortunate as you to live far away from the crime, homelessness and the despair Biden has inflicted on us across America. Count your blessings, but wake up and smell the rot and corruption in DC.
Steve Binkley from Prescott politely disagrees:
I support most of Congressman Gosar’s issues, but I am in disagreement and thought I should share with you that aid to the Ukraine and to Israel is essential. I do realize it puts a strain on our own finances and resources, but just as in prior to World War II, somebody has to step up and stop evil when it rears its ugly head. Left unchecked, like a cancer, it can grow to be fatal.
Thank you, Steve. I never expect anyone to agree with me 100% of the time. Heck, sometimes I disagree with me when I look back. On Israel: we agree. On Ukraine: we don’t. And that’s ok.
I know we both love America, and we are bound in that love for the Constitution, the rule of law, and prosperity and peace for our children.
