Washington, D.C. – Congressman Paul A. Gosar, D.D.S. (AZ-04) issued the following statement after the Biden regime announced it is seeking an additional $38 billion to fund the war in Ukraine as part of Joe Biden’s FY 2023 emergency spending supplemental funding request to the United States Congress.
“I have voted against every single bill to fund the war in Ukraine and I will not support this latest request by Biden to continue the needless death and destruction on both sides in this war.
Our nation is under attack at the southern border, inflation is at an historic high and our country is buried in $31 trillion national debt. It would be a huge error for Congress to use this lame duck session to fast-track Biden’s shameful request for pallets of taxpayer dollars to perpetuate a needless war.
I raise further concerns over the possible corruption between the Biden regime, including Mr. Biden’s son Hunter, and the government of Ukraine. The fact that copious amounts of U.S. money is being sent to a regime that, according to CATO Institute Senior Fellow Ted Carpenter, is very corrupt noting “Ukraine has long been one of the more corrupt countries in the international system.” The payment of millions of dollars from Ukraine to the Biden family for no show jobs reeks of corruption. Nor has there been any accounting of the billions already sent to Ukraine. We recently learned that the second largest donor to the democrat party and causes, FTX, may have received millions from Ukraine. In other words, tax payer money sent to Ukraine may have been laundered and sent as an “investment” in FTX which then donated the money to the democrats.
Putting aside concerns over corruption, putting aside the fact our country is essentially broke and our own border is open and dangerous, what we need is peace and I continue to invite Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin and Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Arizona to engage in peace negotiations,” concluded Congressman Gosar.
Background:
On October 27, 2022 Congressman Gosar invited Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin and Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Arizona to engage in peace negotiations, noting the current posture is untenable and a pathway to peace is long overdue. Months of escalation in weaponry and rhetoric endangers not just the citizens of Russia and Ukraine, but the whole world.
