This week, I introduced the No Tax on Social Security Act of 2021. This legislation would change current tax policies by excluding Social Security benefits from being counted as annual gross income and subject to taxation. 

In 1983, Congress amended the Internal Revenue Code to include Social Security benefits as part of an American’s annual gross income for the purposes of taxation. Individuals earning $25,000 to $34,000 or couples filing jointly whose income is $32,000 to $44,000 are subject to taxation up to 50% of their social security benefits received.  Worse, single recipients with income over $34,000 and couples making more than $44,000 are subject to paying income tax on up to 85% of their social security benefits.

 The decision by Congress to tax Social Security benefits has been a public policy disaster from the beginning. Not only has it deprived America’s senior citizens of benefits which they rightfully earned after a lifetime of hard work and paying into Social Security, but its failure to account for inflation means senior citizens are subject to an annual tax hike. 

It makes no sense for the federal government to punish senior citizens who saved for retirement or who continue to work. All this does is increase the scope of the federal government and deprive Americans of what they are rightfully entitled to.”

This legislation corrects mistakes made by Congress and restores full benefits to America’s senior citizens by excluding Social Security benefits from annual gross income and taxation, ensuring recipients receive the totality of benefits they rightly deserve.

This week, liberal Representatives Carolyn Maloney and Jamie Raskin announced they are launching a frivolous investigation into the election audit in Maricopa County, Arizona.

This decision is yet another attempt to blatantly obstruct and discredit those involved in the important forensic audit process taking place in Maricopa County and it is nothing short of disgusting.

It is obvious that Democrats are panicked and will do absolutely anything to interfere with the process and attempt to destroy anyone involved in standing up for election integrity and voter confidence.

All Arizonans are asking for is a transparent and thorough investigation to prove to voters in my great state that their votes were fairly counted. But that is too much to ask, according to Democrats.

Earlier this week, I attended a rally in Scottsdale to draw awareness to reports that the Department of Justice and the FBI have targeted, imprisoned and persecuted non-violent Americans involved in the January 6, 2021 riot at the US Capitol.

Over six months have passed yet nearly 200 of these individuals remain separated from their families. There are unconfirmed reports that some prisoners are being or have been tortured and held in solitary confinement for 23 hours a day.

These are not unruly or dangerously violent criminals. These are political prisoners who are now being persecuted and bearing the pain of unjust suffering. Individuals arrested for illegal acts on January 6 deserve to be treated fairly. 

Imagine the outrage from the LEFT if everybody who rioted last summer received the same treatment that the January 6^th rioters are receiving. 

The heart of this country is equal treatment especially by the courts. Unfortunately, Mr. Biden and his Justice Department seem more interested in ruining the lives of these folks instead of equal justice.

The excessive overcharging against January 6 trespassers, vandals or rioters when compared to the slap on the wrist for the wide scale arson, looting, assault and murder by the BLM terrorists last year is a shocking indictment of corruption, unequal treatment, and political persecution.

I was proud to join over 200 patriots at this rally to shine a light on and demand answers from the Biden Administration.

This week, I joined Pinal County Sheriff Lamb and dozens of volunteers in Casa Grande, Arizona to clean up rubbish left on the ground from the countless illegal immigrants that cross our southern border.  We filled hundreds of garbage bags with trash, needles, knives and drugs.

In June, 188,829 illegal immigrants were apprehended crossing the southern borders. This is the highest one-month total in 21 years, breaking the previous record set in May.  May broke the record set in April.  April broke the record set in March.  You see the pattern?  Illegal border crossings have increased every single month of the Biden administration.

Nearly 125,000 illegal immigrants have been releases into the United States under Joe Biden.  Where they go is anyone’s guess. By comparison, just 18 people were released during President Trump’s final month in office.

The crisis Biden created worsens with each passing month. Drugs continue to pour in. In Texas, 22 million doses of fentanyl have been seized by law enforcement officials.  Over 7500 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported at detention centers.

The Biden Administration continues to deny the reality of the crisis and Biden’s policies further open America’s borders to drugs, crime and chaos undoing the Trump Administration’s successful border policies. It seems all but certain that I will be back at the border in the near future cleaning up the mess left behind. What a shame.

In May, House Republicans requested information on a grant awarded by the National Institute of Health (NIH) to EcoHealth Alliance, Inc. that was subsequently awarded to the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV).

Not only have they not responded, but since then the release of Dr. Fauci’s emails showed that he knew early on about the possibility of the lab leak theory originating from WIV and that the CEO of EcoHealth pressured Dr. Fauci to discredit the theory.

If Dr. Fauci’s medical industrial complex inappropriately awarded U.S. taxpayer dollars to a lab run by the Chinese Communist Party where COVID-19 originated, and then discredited theories of what caused the outbreak to cover up their role, there is a serious issue which requires rigorous oversight and reform.

In response, I sent another letter to the NIH requesting these document and the unredacted versions of Dr. Fauci’s emails.
