DISCUSSING IMMIGRATION ISSUES
I joined U.S. Representatives Ken Buck (CO- 04) and Andy Biggs (AZ-05) to meet with Attorney General Jeff Sessions, along with their respective senior staff, to discuss critical immigration policy issues. During the meeting, we discussed ways to partner with the attorney general on strengthening immigration enforcement by eliminating current loop holes, reducing false claims for asylum, reducing false claims for refugee status, and withholding funds for cities that refuse to enforce federal law or cooperate with federal law enforcement.

SAYING NO TO ENDLESS WAR
The United States’ military engagements since the passage of the 2001 and 2002 AUMFs lack sufficient congressional oversight regarding the United States’ use of force. This week, I joined my colleagues in signing a letter to the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations expressing our concern and opposition to a new authorization for the use of military force (AUMF) legislation that would allow all current military operations to continue with no new constraints.

TALKS WITH EUROPEAN ALLIES ON MIGRATION

According to Hungarian authorities, the wall has effectively shut off the main migrant route, police arrested only five undocumented immigrants last month, compared with 3,528 before the fence existed in March 2016.

I was able to dive into multiple topics, including my work on the Navajo Generating Station, my fight to provide more transparency into the Mueller investigation and multiple veterans issues.

VISITING LOCAL FARMS
Last week, I joined agriculture leaders from the Yuca to learn more about how Arizona farmers are using technology to help grow their crops that feed our growing population. During the tour of Wilbur-Ellis, Sunset Nursery Inc, and Desert Premium Farms, I learned how these farmers are using technology and detailed testing to determine how much fertilizer to put on the field instead of distributing it in equal amounts which are not efficient for farmers and growers.
