War in the Middle East
More details have emerged from the Hamas Palestinian massacre of Israelis and the atrocities are severe. To date approximately 1,300 innocent Israeli’s were murdered. I don’t pretend to know everything about this part of the world, but I know this: the Jews have a long, and well documented claim, to the land that is Israel. Even for non-believers, the Bible, including the Old Testament, can be seen as an historical document that establishes the Jewish claim to that land for about 3,700 years.
When the Romans conquered this area they referred to it as Palestine (which was in reference to the biblical Philistines) in order to cleanse the area of its Jewish roots. But the land itself has not changed, nor has the Jewish presence there ever left. Jews have had a presence there for thousands of years, even under Assyrian rule, Babylonian rule, Roman rule, Ottoman rule, and British rule. After the Holocaust, this land was formalized as a Jewish state in 1948, and subsequent wars expanded the 1948 borders somewhat.
The point is this: many have tried, and some have succeeded, in conquering Israel. Nevertheless, it also remained with, and will belong to, the Jewish people. Today Hamas claims it should belong to them and to achieve this they have been attacking, killing, bombing and shooting Israelis for decades. The latest attack this month was notable because of its size and barbarity, but the attacks have been constant for decades.
If you lived next door to someone who actively tried to kill you and your family for decades, you would have two choices: move or eliminate your neighbor. The Israelis aren’t moving, nor should they. So now they are in the compelled position of having to eliminate Hamas. The brutality of Hamas has earned it whatever Israel dishes out. This is a classic case of FAFO, eff around and found out. Do not listen to the apologists for genocide who want Israel to use “proportionate” force, or to take no actions to secure Israel. The people supporting Hamas are supporting ethnic cleansing, murder and genocide. I understand there are civilians there, civilians who elected Hamas, and according to all polls, overwhelmingly support Hamas and its Constitution—a document that enshrines genocide against the Jews.
If the Palestinians want peace, they need to stop killing Israelis. It is really that simple. The complaints that the Gaza Strip is an open-air prison, crowded, unsanitary and crappy overlook that the steps that created this situation was their perpetual violence against Israel. If they want to live in peace, they need to leave Israel to live in peace.
I pray to God that He can restore peace to the hearts of the Palestinians. I pray for Israel. I am against unnecessary wars but only the most ignorant or biased could conclude that Israel’s actions aren’t warranted. If a country cannot protect its people, its families, its men, women and children, it is not a country.
Gosar Sponsors Resolution Condemning Hamas Attacks on Israel
Earlier this week, I cosponsored a bipartisan resolution supporting Israel’s right to defend itself against Hamas following the heinous attack by the terrorist group. I strongly condemn the brutal attack by terrorists and fully support Israel’s right to self-defense.
Unfortunately, Biden and the disgraced General Milley, bear some responsibility for the attack. The Biden/Milley disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan left billions of dollars of military equipment, some of which now is reportedly in the hands of Hamas. Biden irresponsibly reopened the nuclear arms negotiations, empowering Iran. Biden recently gave Iran $6 billion which indirectly helped fund terror plots. He refused to enforce the Trump-imposed Iranian oil sanctions which allowed Iran to rake in billions in profits. Biden reversed the Trump-imposed freeze on hundreds of million in funds that likely were diverted to Hamas. For more than two years, Biden turned his back on Israeli President Netanyahu thus projecting a weakening relationship with our ally in the Middle East.
Tragically, Iran and Hamas took notice of Joe Biden’s failures. As a result, 1300 innocent lives have been lost, including at least 27 Americans.

VDH: The Late, Great Hamas Finally Got Its Wish–And . . . ?
For further perpective, I encourage you to read this brilliant analysis recently published by Victor David Hanson, a military historian and Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institute:
Ever since Hamas was “elected” to run Gaza, and then followed the usual “one election/one time” Middle East formula, it has bragged nonstop that its agenda was to erase Israel off the face of the earth (cf. the wall map in the office of our Representative Tlaib).
Its unabashed nihilist boasts resonated throughout the Palestinian “movement.” Its fiery threats delighted the Arab street.
Indeed, Hamas was soon celebrated as the most “authentic” of the radical Palestinian terrorist movements.
Which cadre of thugs could top its end-of-days rhetoric, its assured and steady supply of money and weapons from Iran, its satanic eagerness to mutilate and dismember, and the sanctuary and financial wherewithal offered to it by our “ally” Qatar?
None.
Since it was viewed as the most “volatile” and creepy of the Palestinian factions, and the most useful to Iran, the Obama and Biden Administrations appeased its murderers. Was it not part of their hare-brained grand strategy of empowering theocratic Iran, and its Syrian, Hezbollah, and Hamas hirelings?
Their campaign (remember the “they literally know nothing” media and the Obama “echo chamber” created by a boastful Ben Rhodes?) was to forge these disparate Islamists into a crescent of resistance to Israel and any “moderate” Arab regime (recall the Obama-Biden transitory hatred of the Gulf sheikdoms).
The result would be “creative tension” —as well as payback for the Israeli election of Netanyahu.
Through this formula, Obama believed he could always pressure Israel to grant concessions to radical Palestinians, thanks to the looming threat of an ever menacing (and soon to be nuclear) Iran, with help from Obama’s other friends—the then Muslim Brotherhood government in Egypt and his pal, the neo-Ottomanist and anti-Semite Erdogan of Turkey, Obama’s self-described personal liaison to the Islamic world.
Yes, of course, this was sheer madness—if perhaps characteristic of Obama’s well-known orneriness.
Perhaps someday soon, a few disinterested historians might even record that the current nightmare in Israel is the logical end-result of what Barack Obama, John Kerry (remember his Trump-era Paris reconnaissance with the Iranians?), Ben Rhodes, Valerie Jarrett, Robert Malley, Joe Biden, Antony Blinken, and a host of other incompetent but otherwise haughty and dangerous people once conjured up.
A defiant, and empowered murderous Hamas was one of the many dividends of their appeasement and grand Middle East schemes—given the eagerness of the Obama and Biden administrations to send hundreds of millions of dollars into Gaza, despite warnings from their own experts that such cash would enhance terrorism and abet the evil work of Hamas with an American financial stamp of legitimacy.
Hence, a soon to be nuclear Iran, freed from sanctions, had enough money (remember the nocturnal cash pallets on the Tehran tarmac?) to fund its surrogate global death squads. Hamas has killed Jewish civilians for nearly two decades, always escaping the full wrath of Israel retaliation by appealing to the amoral consciousness of leftwing European and American governments. It counted on ample help from both Iran and Arab regimes, along with Turkey, which always screams “instability” at the first sign of Israeli retaliation.
The blustering Hamas has now murdered 1,000 Jews in their homes, preferring especially to gun down children, reportedly behead babies, torture the doomed, rape the helpless, execute the elderly, and brutalize women—and topping the killing off in good SS fashion by gleeful dismemberment and desecration of Jewish corpses.
So, they finally got their wish for their own version of the Holocaust, for what they had always bragged would be the “final” Israel-ending war—as their cowardly elders announced last Saturday from their protected enclaves.
Yes, Hamas promised their mass killing of innocents would ignite the Muslim world, incite simultaneous attacks on Israel from Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and perhaps Egypt—all as their planned anniversary replay of the Yom Kippur War’s first 48 hours.
And it may—or may not.
The ebullient people of Gaza seemed initially enthralled at videos of mutilated Jews, and showed their zeal by spitting on hostages carried back home for supposed Roman-like triumphs before their public sacrifices. Videos of the gruesome killings of Jews were hot downloads on Gaza mobile phones.
Now mutilating dead Israelis, now boasting how brave their sons were in slaying unarmed Jews inside Israel, Gazans assumed a shocked Israel would capitulate.
Would not its megaphones in the West characteristically protect them and restrain Israel?
Could not they themselves always ensure a few thousand of their own civilians be sacrificed as expendable human shields of their missile pads, and thus become necessary fuel for their boilerplate accusations of “war crimes” that usually curtailed Israeli retribution?
But now the Israeli retaliation seems oblivious to all that.
It may not be like the past incursions into Gaza that were manipulated by a cowardly Hamas to gain media sympathy for “collateral damage” that they themselves had engineered.
Predictably, as Israel ramps up the air attacks and prepares for the ground assault, the global media is showing a concern for civilian collateral damage in a way it never quite did for murdered Jewish innocents and beheaded infants.
Western governments are terrified of Middle East killers who may return to their previous attacks on their European citizens. After all, Western leftwing suicidal immigration policies have ensured large unassimilated Muslim populations. Millions have fled the self-created violence and tyranny of the Middle East only to cheer it on from a safe distance in their adopted Western homelands, whose welcoming of these “refugees” is now so often reciprocated with sheer contempt for the apologetic hosts.
Nonetheless, the Gaza crowds of 48 hours ago who were boasting their sons murdering with impunity and spat on bound defenseless women, are now aggrieved. But they might as well be barking at the moon about the supposed “unfairness” of the Israeli air counterattack.
Among the rubble of once Hamas high-rises they are weeping for media cameras, calling on a corrupt and anti-Semitic UN for accustomed relief, threatening on spec the West with who knows what (is it now infant beheading or body dismemberment?), and in general suddenly quite unhappy about their “final” war they just recently boasted was all but won.
Will the heroic legions of Hamas who beheaded and raped now pour out in the streets to fight the IDF and push them into the sea as promised?
Perhaps not?
Some final thoughts: Why has Iran gone from bragging three days ago about its training and tutelage of the Hamas killers suddenly to pleading that while it is certainly delighted about the beheadings, rapes, executions, and mutilations, it technically had no actionable role in ensuring them?
The truth is that a Hamas right now is alternately threatening and begging Western governments, beseeching its suddenly mum Iranian suppliers, whining that Hezbollah and the PNA have not yet sufficiently shared the bloodletting of this war, and generally railing for more jihad from a few of its increasingly so-so, nonplused Middle Eastern sponsors.
Hamas fears it may have boxed itself in, with two American aircraft carriers between it and Iran, with private satisfaction from many Arab states that their nuisance Hamas might at last have committed suicide through its mass homicide, with even fanatic supporters hard-pressed to make their “moral” case for the beheading of babies, and with a half-million IDF soldiers headed their way to deliver upon them divine justice, perhaps in the Lincolnesque Second Inaugural sense of “the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.”
Translated, that means for the first time in its existence an unholy Hamas may not get out of its self-created rendezvous with what it has so duly earned, given there is now no assurance of third-party relief and thus no restraint on Israel.
Even a shaken and shamed Biden administration—guilty of an open border and its de facto support for Hamas and Iran, but suddenly scared of a furious election-cycle American public—may for a while not call off Israel.
The arrogant but half-educated Harvard crowd, the European Islamists, the woke and pampered anti-Semites on Western campuses, the AOC socialists, the pro-Hamas Squad, the BLM chorus who cheered on the Hamas glider death attack, of course CAIR, and all the usual suspects for now are as furious as they are impotent—petulant that for once, just this once, and for a while longer at least, no one is listening to their oh so tired amoral defense of the indefensible. – VDH, posted on Twitter (X) October 10, 2023
Gosar Supports Jim Jordan for Speaker of the House of Representatives
As you all know, I said that this was not the time to have a Speaker’s battle. We have an economy melting down, a federal budget that has not passed, and two major global wars. Nevertheless, Speaker McCarthy was removed, and now it is clear there is no plan to move forward. This week we had multiple votes, including Representatives Scalise, Scott and Jordan. None received close to the majority needed to become the next Speaker. I supported my friend Jim Jordan, and still do, but this coming week may show that we need a different candidate who can obtain the majority of support. People like Representatives Emmer, Zeldin and Donalds are possibilities. We shall see.
As of the publication of this newsletter, the timing for the floor vote is somewhat fluid, but likely Monday. I will continue to support my good friend, Jim Jordan, and look forward to working closely with him as the next Speaker of the House if he is elected. I will keep you posted.
Gosar Sends Letter to Veteran Affairs
Earlier this week, I joined several of my Republican colleagues in sending a letter to Denis McDonough, Secretary of the Department of Veteran Affairs, questioning new training guidelines promoting “reproductive health” being provided to VA staff. For example, the training being provided encourages abortion procedures and asserts that men can become pregnant. This is sheer lunacy. Rather than engage in woke ideological pursuits that strays from the VA’s intended scope and mission, the must focus on providing top-notch healthcare and support services to our veterans.

Inflation Remains too Damn High
Also this week, new Consumer Price Index data was released showing inflation remains more than twice the rate under Biden than it was under President Trump. In fact, Bidenflation is more than double than at any time under the four previous presidents! What does that mean? Well, for one, your wages have been negative for 26 straight months, meaning Biden cut your salary 3.2 percent since taking office. 60 percent of Americans are living paycheck-to-paycheck, struggling to pay for groceries, gasoline or save for retirement. Everything costs more. Average gas prices currently sit at $3.65 per gallon, which is $1.25 higher than when Biden took office. American families are spending $709 more a month on the same goods and services as they were two years ago. Is it any wonder that only 33 percent of Americans approve of Biden's handling of the economy, according to an AP-NORC poll? Who are these 33%, by the way? Most likely rich Hollywood celebrities, woke college professors, Fake News journalists and out-of-touch corporate elitists.
What is Biden doing to try and bring down inflation? Nothing. Nada. Zip. Unless you are in the camp that counts the $113 billion sent to Ukraine, the billions Biden wasted on his fake climate change agenda (remember the $740 billion “Inflation Reduction Act” aka the Green New Deal that raised taxes on most Americans?) or the free flights, housing, medical care and cell phones being handed out to the more than eight million illegal aliens being welcomed in with open arms. Thanks, Joe Biden.
Gosar Right Again: Hydroxychloroquine Effective COVID Treatment
Despite hydroxychloroquine having saved lives, many states under pressure from Big Pharma and the Biden Administration banned the drug treatment for COVID. This was a terrible tragedy. Because the Left is beholden to the pharmaceutical industry that makes a ton of money off vaccines, the Left was willing to let people die. This week a study published in the scientific journal New Microbes and New Infections, found that hydroxychloroquine has shown to be a safe and effective drug treatment in combating COVID-19 and is a potential alternative to the vaccine afterall. I hate to say I told you so, but the study concludes:
Researchers found a “statistically significant reduction in crude mortality rate at 28 days was observed in the [hydroxychloroquine plus azithromycin] group” – emphasizing their findings “do not support the current negative recommendations regarding this treatment.”
Unfortunately, hydroxychloroquine continues to be the subject of non-stop attacks and misinformation from the Liberal Left and Big-Pharma to suppress its effectiveness. Over the past few years, I received a fair amount of hate mail from leftists apparently motivated by my and President Trump’s defense of its effectiveness. I’m still waiting for their apology…

It’s Mail Time!
I receive thousands of letters each week from constituents. I appreciate hearing from everyone and do my best to respond. Here are a sample of some of the letters I received this week:
Kevin W. from Phoenix, AZ spews this hatred:
I'll remind you that Dr. Gosar was elected to represent Arizona in Congress, not Israel. We don't have enough money for our own needs in the USA and the currency is repeatedly debase. No more American tax money for Israel! Down with Jews! White power!
Kevin – Wow! You are likely a leftist trolling with the ridiculous “White power” and your denunciation of Jews. Many, if not most, democrats hate Israel and the Jews that live there. In Congress we have an informal “Hamas Caucus” that consists entirely of democrats. I do agree that our tax money should be spent here in America, and our border needs defending as much or more as Israel’s and Ukraine’s border. I have, and will continue to, vote to cut foreign aid. Our country is broke. We cannot spend blindly on other countries. But I don’t say that out of dislike for Ukrainians or Israelis; I say that out of love for my people and my country, a country I do in fact represent.
Terry C. from Wickenburg, AZ is concerned about Bidenflation:
Another example of how this government ignores math and inflation figures and just picks a Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) number out of the air that fits their budget needs.
Our inflation index already ignores major cost items we have to pay for, yet Social Security recipients get less next year than the known inflation rate and its trajectory. To add insult, I bet Medicare goes up and eats away much of the COLA 3.2%. Just watch.
My family grocery bill has gone up to $750 per month now, compared to when President Trump was in office it cost us $475 per month for groceries. We have cut out all desserts and sweets and snacks too. No sodas or sports drinks either. Despite cutting out junk foods and drinks, our costs still went up about 57.8%.
That is reality. At least the COLA should be the current inflation rate of 3.7% and then get whacked by Medicare increases.
Terry, your frustration is well warranted. The official inflation rate is essentially fake because it excludes food and energy. You heard that right. The federal government excludes the cost of food and energy when determining the inflation rate. Well, since we all eat, and we all use energy every day, excluding these costs simply hides the true cost. It thus makes the COLA increases fake as well and not in line with real inflation. I will support legislation to change how inflation, and thus Social Security COLA, is calculated.
P.S.—It is not for me to tell you how to eat to improve your health, but if you have stopped buying sweets and sodas, you may find your health improving. Biden gets no credit for that, but nevertheless …
Leonard W. from Kingman rambles:
As your constituent, I strongly oppose your opposition to funding Ukraine. Your reasoning is based on lies regarding President Biden being bribed. Secondly, making your position on migrants and the border is a distraction from our obligation as a democratic society to defend DEMOCRACY which is a far greater value than your short-sighted view of our REPUBLIC. The ideal we should be working for is a DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC.
Leonard, I was elected to represent Arizona, including Kingman. None of my responsibility involves spending American tax money in Ukraine. This is particularly compelling when we are under an organized, well-funded and coordinated invasion of over eight million illegal aliens in just 2.5 years. I want our money, and our military, to secure our own border. Ukraine created a mess and was engaged in sustained attacks against Russia and Russians from 2014 to today. They picked a fight with Russia and Russia is going to finish it. It is not our problem.
As for your bleating about “democracy,” know this: we are a constitutional republic. Our Founders distrusted the democracy you propose. Benjamin Franklin said that democracy is “two wolves and a sheep voting on what’s for lunch.” Mr. Franklin also wisely predicted that “when the people find that they can vote themselves money that will herald the end of the republic.”
Apparently, you missed some history classes, but in brief, our country is a constitutional republic and was made so to avoid the recklessness of pure democracy. Our republic also preserves our federalism, which empowers our states and limits the power of the federal government. Pure democracy crushes minorities and results in mob rule and tribalism. The “democratic republics” you are so enamored with include:
The German Democratic Republic (formerly known as communist East Germany);
The Democratic Republic of Vietnam (also known as North Vietnam communists);
Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea (North Korean communists).
You can dream about communism and “democratic republics” but as for me, I will fight to preserve, and improve, our constitutional republic.
Lastly, we have all seen the evidence. Joe Biden and his family engaged in a massive $20 million bribery scheme involving Ukraine. They received millions of dollars, and it bought a visit from then VP Biden to Ukraine to get a prosecutor fired who was investigating — wait for it: Ukrainian bribery of the Bidens. Biden illegally threatened to withhold billions in U.S. foreign aid, authorized by Congress, until the prosecutor who was hot on his tail, was fired. Thus, Biden put his personal interests above the country, accepted bribes and was irremediably corrupt. He will be impeached over these crimes. The millions in bribes also bought over $130 billion and counting of our tax money shipped to Ukraine for a war we have no business being in. The only one with business in Ukraine to protect is Biden and his corrupt and immoral family.
Finally, Virginia E. from Kingman shares:
We express that we want Jim Jordan as Speaker of The House. He is a true fighter that we support. Stop funding and destroying this country and, yes, we support Israel.
Yes Virginia! I too respect and support Jim. Who knows what will happen this week, but at the time I am writing this Jim does not have enough votes. That could change on Monday. People with the love of God in their hearts support Israel at this time. Thank you, Virginia.
