Another 100,000+ Illegals Crossed the Border in July
Despite repeated claims by Border Czar Kamala Harris that there is no crisis at the southern border, this week the Customs and Border Protection released data noting another 104,116 illegal immigrants crossed the border in July. For the past 39 months, border crossings have surpassed even the highest month when Donald Trump was President. In fact, July's 104,000 border crossings represent a 122 percent increase from the average number of July crossings during the Trump administration. More than 13 million illegal aliens have crossed the border since Biden and Harris took office. More than 1.9 million “gotaways” have escaped past Border Patrol into the U.S. Sadly, border officials say that the official number of “gotaways” vastly undercounts the illegal immigrants who make it into the United States.
It gets worse, nearly 2,800 pounds of deadly fentanyl and 9,069 pounds of methamphetamine were seized at the southern border in July. To put that into perspective, the amount of fentanyl seized in July is the equivalent of roughly 619 million lethal doses, or just about twice the population of the United States or 87 times the population of Arizona! Since Harris and Biden took office, 32 tons of fentanyl have crossed the southern border, enough to kill more than 14 billion people.
How did we get here? Simple: the Biden-Harris administration's failed policies created this crisis. In the first 100 days, Joe Biden and Border Czar Harris took more than 94 executive actions on immigration, including halting construction of the border wall and ending the successful "Remain in Mexico" policy. By the three-year mark, the Biden-Harris administration had taken 535 executive actions related to immigration. It’s all done intentionally. In fact, the Biden-Harris fiscal year 2025 budget proposal calls for eliminating $50 million in border wall funding. But don’t take my word, illegal aliens have confirmed this: "The border is open... everybody believes that the border is open. It's open because we enter. We come in, free, no problem... We came illegally."
What’s the cost, you ask? Kamala Harris' border crisis is costing U.S. taxpayers approximately $150.7 billion each year. It’s not just the fiscal toll that’s so damning, it’s also the devastating human toll brought on by the Biden-Harris open border policies. This week the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Inspector General issued a heartbreaking report noting that the Biden-Harris administration has lost track of approximately 300,000 migrant children. My friend and colleague, Representative Eli Crane summed it up perfectly, noting, “[the] report is a testament to the horrors of the Biden-Harris administration’s open-border policies. They’ve directly fueled human trafficking, child exploitation, and the enrichment of murderous cartels. There’s nothing humane about admitting vulnerable children into America only for them to end up with unvetted sponsors that don’t ensure their safety.” I wholeheartedly agree with Congressman Crane.
I know all my liberal friends are asking: wasn’t it far worse when Donald Trump was President? Andrew Arthur, a resident fellow at the Center for Immigration Studies, notes that problems became much worse on Biden’s watch. When Biden and Harris took office “all of those safeguards that President Trump had put on the system to protect those kids were gone,” Arthur told the Daily Reporter.
Remarkably, not a single word was spoken about this tragedy by anyone including Kamala Harris this week in Chicago…
President Trump Visits AZ and Tours the Southern Border
Since we are on the subject of illegal border crossings, you may recall two weeks ago that I noted in my newsletter that Border Czar Kamala Harris refused to stop by Yuma to see firsthand the border invasionduring her recent circus stop in Arizona.
In stark contrast, President Trump was in Arizona this week and once again visited the southern border, promising to seal the border and start the largest deportation process in history on day one of his administration.
Congressional Committees Releases Impeachment Report
This week, the House Committees on Oversight and Accountability, Judiciary, and Ways and Means Oversight and Accountability Committee released the long-awaited report of the impeachment inquiry of Joe Biden. The 300-page report details how the Biden family and associates received over $27 million from foreign interests since 2014 to buy access to Joe Biden.
The report lays out overwhelming evidence that Joe Biden participated in a conspiracy to abuse his office to enrich his family and went to great lengths to conceal this conspiracy. The report details how Hunter Biden and his business partners leveraged then Vice President Joe Biden’s official position to garner favorable outcomes in foreign business dealings and legal proceedings.
I have long said that Joe Biden’s conduct is impeachable, and this report proves it. Biden abused his office and repeatedly lied about it while defrauding the United States to enrich his family. I am not going to candy-coat this, after years of investigating Joe Biden’s corruption, I am less than pleased that there is very little chance that these findings will result in any consequences. The sad reality is that with just over two months until the election and Biden out of the race, House Republican leaders don’t seem to have the courage to move forward with impeachment proceedings, despite overwhelming evidence that Joe Biden took part in the corruption and abuse.
Chalk this up to another in a long line of useless Republican reports
detailing corruption at the highest levels within the Biden-Harris government that go absolutely nowhere. By contrast, Democrats impeached former President Donald Trump twice during his term, even though their allegations were outright hoaxes.
Nearly One Million Jobs Vanish
You might not have heard this from the Fake News, but this week the Bureau of Labor quietly revised its numbers to show that 818,000 fewer jobs were added from April 2023 to March 2024. This was the largest downward revision in nearly two decades. Nearly one million jobs vanished overnight. Gone. Poof! Well, not really, because these jobs were never added. This is just more evidence that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have been putting their thumbs on the scale and lying about their “strong jobs recovery.” Americans are not dumb: opinion polls have routinely expressed a negative opinion of the Biden-Harris economy, with a majority describing the economy as poor and 64 percent of Americans believing the nation is on the wrong track under Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
Survey Says!
Last week, in response to the sticker shock of inflation under the Biden-Harris administration’s energy policies, I asked faithful Gosar Newsletter readers to participate in a survey asking if your energy costs are more expensive today than they were just four years ago. The results are in: 98% responded that your energy costs are more expensive, 1.5% responded that your energy costs are less expensive, and less than half a percent who responded were unsure. I’m not at all surprised by these results because Americans are paying far more for everything, thanks to Bidenflation and Kamalanomics. Let’s pray that help is on the way this November. Thank you to everyone who participated in my survey.
Team Gosar Gets Around Town!
This week, my amazing team had the honor of attending the Kingman Veteran Treatment Court Graduation Ceremony and presented two graduates with a Congressional recognition certificate and a challenge coin. Veterans Treatment Court is a dignified, problem-solving court that is intended to serve Veterans struggling with addiction, serious mental illness, PTSD and/or re-occurring disorders as well as any other issues the Veteran may have, including housing, employment, and education.
Also this week, my team attended the open house in Parker for the Together with Veterans Resource Center hosted by the Regional Center for Border Health, Inc. The main mission of the center is to provide the support and services to prevent Veterans' suicide.
Many thanks to the organizers and participants of these events. We appreciate all you do for our Veterans and our community!
It’s Mail Time!
📬 I receive thousands of letters each month from constituents. I appreciate hearing from everyone who writes me. Here are a few letters I received this week:
📨 Henry G. from Buckeye shared some good news:
Please pass along my personal thanks and appreciation for the recent Social Security round table event [hosted by Congressman Gosar]! Because the Social Security representative was extremely knowledgeable, my wife was able to file for and receive the correct benefits.
✏ Henry, this is fabulous news, and I am so pleased you were able to get the help you needed! If you or anyone else ever needs help with a federal agency, please feel free to always reach out to my office in Goodyear. We will do our best to assist. Click here for address and contact information.
📨 Richard B. from Welton, AZ sends in:
I know what the standard reply is on proposed legislation, but what I’d like to know is why some politicians think we the people are stupid? They propose a bill that might be good for the people, but they tack on some worthless legislation that is obviously bad for the country. Then we are forced to choose if we want the good we have to take the bad. My question is: why is the legislation is not being voted on by its own? We the People are being manipulated by our own government.
✏ Dear Richard, I appreciate your frustration. I strongly believe that the best legislation is short, easy to read and to understand, and only deals with a single subject. The American People should know what their representatives are voting on. Massive, confusing bills are an absolute disservice to Americans. Additionally, I believe that Congress must have regular order because good process makes good policy makes good politics.
The unprincipled practice of forcing large pieces of legislation through the process needs to come to an end. This is one of the key reasons I opposed former Speaker Kevin McCarthy and supported recent efforts to vacate the Speaker. We must have accountability and transparency in Congress.
📨 Joan D. from Lake Havasu City, AZ writes:
On Newsmax there was a doctor who says that they are now being told to register voters through the medical portal. They even have a script they are to use with illegal aliens to get them registered to vote. This is appalling. Would you please look into this and see if we can get a federal law that gets the registering of voters out of the hands of our DMV and our doctor’s offices?
✏ Joan, I cannot state how opposed I am to non-citizens voting. There's been a lot of discussion on people without proof of citizenship voting in Arizona. Although it's against federal and state law for non-citizens to vote in elections, that doesn't mean it never happens. Thankfully, Arizona passed House Bill 2492, which requires proof of citizenship to be registered to vote. Of course, because this is a reasonable and sensible thing, the Biden-Harris Administration hates it.
The Biden-Harris Department of Justice sued Arizona and tried to undo the will of the people by voiding several key parts of that legislation. How the system works currently is Arizona has "federal-only" voters who cannot vote for state and local candidates or issues, but can vote for their House member, Senator, or President and Vice President.
It's almost as if there is an implicit admission that people who can't provide proof of citizenship should vote anyway. The attitude of let them vote now, verify later, is despicable. My stance is if you can't prove you are an Arizona resident or even a U.S. citizen, you don’t have a right to vote.
I feel so passionately about this that I've introduced legislation to combat fraudulent voting (H.R. 466, the Securing America's Elections Act of 2023). This bill would require all voting systems in the United States to produce voter-verified paper ballots. Meaning you must do more than just prove your citizenship, you must prove you are you, and that there is a paper trail so any suspicious activity may be audited.
Moreover, I reject every aspect of Biden's Executive Order 14019, Promoting Access to Voting, which mentions that "[a]gencies shall consider ways to expand citizens' opportunities to register to vote…" Biden's insistence that federal agencies - to which Congress has not delegated voting enforcement - meddle in elections is absurd and a striking abuse of federalism.
As I have noted, at least 13 million illegal aliens entered our country since January 2021. That is on top of the approximately 30 million illegal aliens that were already here. I guarantee if millions of illegal aliens were crossing into our country, but they wanted to vote for Trump the Leftists would block the border with everything they have got.
The Arizona legislature wisely passed a voter ID law to stop illegal aliens from voting. The good news is that the courts have upheld this law and it will apply to this election. That is big news for election integrity in Arizona.
