These numbers do not include the number of illegal immigrants that Border Patrol tracked but were unable to apprehend, known as “gotaways.”  The Border Patrol estimates that another 600,000 illegal aliens will escape into the United States this year.   It’s likely much higher.  Where they go is anyone’s guess.

No American is immune from the impact of Mr. Biden’s border crisis.  Arizonans, in particular, are feeling the impact in our back yard. The crisis has reached a new low in my district in Yuma, Arizona, which has been ground zero, as hundreds of illegal aliens cross into Yuma daily and even more continue to stage along the border waiting to illegally cross.  Yuma is under siege because Mr. Biden and Border Czar Kamala Harris are nowhere to be found.  These criminals include rapists, drug dealers and even terrorists.  You read that right – terrorists.  On December 20, Border Patrol agents in Yuma arrested a terrorist from Saudi Arabia.   He had pranced across our open border and it was only through sheer luck that border patrol agents were able to stop him before he blended into the thousands of “migrants” that Mr. Biden is letting into our country every day.   How many other terrorists have escaped detection this year alone?  What type of terrorist attack was this guy plotting?  Thank you to the Yuma Border Patrol for doing your best under an incompetent administration that wants you to fail.

Mr. Biden’s border crisis is not comprised of victimless individuals desperately seeking a better life, as Mr. Biden would want you to believe.  The fact is, the open border is killing Americans by the tens of thousands as drugs pour across the border.  Tragically, 100,000 Americans have died due to fentanyl and methamphetamine in 2021 and there is no end in sight.  For example, on December 16^th, the U.S. Border Patrol announced it seized 3,280 pounds of methamphetamine in one car, the largest bust to date. Meth seizures are up 85% in 2021, and the lethal drug fentanyl also reached record highs in 2021.   As reported about fentanyl, “during the 2021 fiscal year, agents have found 41 pounds so far – a dramatic rise that experts attribute to the increasing role in drug cartels producing the illicit drug themselves with raw materials from China.”  NBC News also reported that “fentanyl and meth seizures at the ports of entry are also up, 719 percent and 781 percent, respectively.”  The Center for Drug Control’s (CDC) National Center for Health Statistics indicate that there were an estimated 100,306 drug overdose deaths in the United States during 12-month period ending in April 2021.  In a rare admission of the crisis, on December 19, Mr. Biden’s Drug Enforcement Administration Administrator Anne Milgram stated that “Mexican drug cartels are "mass producing" fentanyl and flooding our country with the drugs over our unprotected border. 

According to the CDC, fentanyl overdoses have killed more people aged 18 to 45 since 2020 than COVID, car accidents, and even suicides combined.   Fentanyl is made in China and shipped to Mexico for processing, where it is made into pills that look like pain medication or Adderall, but instead will kill a person almost instantly.   It is also added into to other drugs like cocaine, heroin and laced into marijuana.   It is almost always lethal.  Illegal aliens working with drug cartels walk or drive across our open border and bring these drugs here to kill our people.

The first priority of the President of the United States is to protect the people of America.  Sadly, Joe Biden has dismantled all of President Trump’s immigration policies in his first 11 months in office, beginning with his executive order halting the border wall construction on day one in office.  With that has come a national security and public health crisis, crime, drug addiction and death.  In addition to these dangers, it also costs American taxpayers billions and billions of dollars to arrest, prosecute and house illegal aliens.  According to the government, the incarceration cost alone for illegal aliens serving time in federal prisons is between $35,000 and $40,000 per year per inmate. This doesn’t include the border towns and communities all across the country being jeopardized by illegal aliens knowingly carrying and transmitting the COVID-19 virus while ignoring all the basic guidance concerning the pandemic. Unfortunately, Mr. Biden and Kamala Harris’s nonsensical policies have intentionally opened America to an unsustainable surge of lawbreakers.  They have directly caused an historic crisis on our southern border, chosen to put Americans last and have lost the trust of its citizens.  We can only pray that Mr. Biden comes to his senses in 2022 and implements the successful border policies put in place by President Trump.
