Gosar Urges Biden Administration End Costly Transition to Electric Vehicles
This week, I joined nearly 140 bipartisan Senators and Representatives in sending a letter to Joe Biden urging he withdraw the Environmental Protection Agency’s rule mandating 67% of new light-duty vehicles and 46% of medium-duty vehicles be all-electric by 2032.
Most Americans still prefer gas-engine vehicles and the EPA’s proposed rule unnecessarily restricts consumer choice and forces expensive electric vehicles (EVs) onto Americans at a time when they can least afford it. In a nutshell, the rule replaces combustion engines with unreliable and unaffordable EVs and highlights Biden’s radical and costly Green New Deal policies.

Recognizing Goodyear Police Chief Rodriguez
This week, my dedicated staff attended the retirement ceremony for Goodyear Police Chief Santiago Rodriguez. My District Director, Penny Pew presented Chief Santiago with a congressional recognition. Chief Rodriguez has been the chief of police for the Goodyear Police Department since 2019. During his 26 years of service in Goodyear, he served in nearly every capacity within the department, including Deputy Chief of Police, Lieutenant and Patrol Officer of the K9 Unit.
Chief Santiago: congratulations on your well-deserved retirement! Your dedication and years of service have made a significant and lasting impact on our community. We are grateful for the countless sacrifices you made to keep us safe and best wishes for a happy and healthy retirement.
Remember Our POW/MIA Heroes
Did you know that more than 80,000 American service personnel are missing from previous conflicts, according to the United States Department of Defense? Hundreds of military personnel from Arizona involved in several international conflicts remain unaccounted for, according to the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency.
This week, my staff also attended the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency family update in Scottsdale, Arizona. This meeting was held to address the individual needs of the family members while bringing information to our community. During the meeting, government officials met one-on-one with family members to discuss the details of each of their cases. Also this week, Jeremiah Cota, one the amazing members of my team, was thrilled to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony and welcomed Federico’s in Goodyear, Arizona to the neighborhood. Federico’s is a family-owned and growing small business in the district. Small businesses are the backbone of our economy and play a vital role in fostering a sense of community. By opening their doors, Federico’s is not only creating an opportunity for themselves, but also for many others in our community. I can't wait to visit!

It’s Mail Time!
I receive thousands of letters each month, including nearly 5,500 in February. Here are samples of some of the letters I received this week:
Nat C. from Quartzsite, AZ writes:
I am writing to you today to ask that you do everything in your power to ensure that the U.S. resumes funding to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA). I urge you to speak out publicly to call to restore funding and to press the administration on the matter. As UN experts warn of an “all-out famine” I urge you to support increases in aid to address a man-made humanitarian crisis that the U.S. is involved in creating.
As you know, this abrupt suspension of funding couldn’t come at a more dangerous time. Humanitarian groups are warning about a “full-fledged famine” in Gaza. The World Food Program says that nearly two-thirds of Gazans rely on food aid. At the same time, UNRWA is the main aid provider for millions of Palestinians in Gaza and the wider region. It’s clear that the decision to cut aid has dire implications.
The suspension of funding by the U.S. and other donor states will dramatically reduce life-saving assistance for the Gaza population, over half of whom are children. There is no “workaround”, UNRWA is the only agency with the infrastructure to address this massive crisis. The heads of WHO, World Food Program, UNICEF, and others all say ‘no other entity’ can replace UNRWA.
Please write to let me know your position on the issue, and how you will be working to restore this critical aid funding.
Nat, respectfully, we disagree. I fully support defunding and withdrawing from the United Nations in its entirety and this organization is no exception. Aid to people in need is one thing, but UNRWA not only actively employed members of the Gaza-based terrorist group but also had tunnels underneath in which Hamas command had access.
As a member of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability, I’ve taken a stand on this issue. I, and my GOP colleagues, recently sent a letter to Secretary Blinken demanding documentation on the State Department’s process for approving funding of UNRWA.
I fully stand with Israel against the barbaric forces of evil. It is despicable U.S. tax dollars are helping Iran-backed terrorist groups like Hamas. If you would like to read the letter, you can see it here and you can see my announcement of this letter in my February 18th newsletter.

The RINO House Members who are plotting to go around Speaker Johnson and force a floor vote on giving billions of tax dollars away to foreign countries need to pay a price for their betrayal. I am sick and tired of the RINO Republicans, who are worse than Democrats for deception. They campaign as conservatives and vote as democrats on too many issues.
Terry, you’re not wrong. We have plenty of problems right here in the United States that we should focus our attention on including an invasion along the southern border, deadly drugs pouring into our country, homelessness, crime, Bidenflation and roads and bridges in disrepair. The list goes on and on. We’ve wasted over $100 billion in Ukraine and for what? Absolutely NOTHING. America has no reason being there. I have opposed and voted against every single dime spent in Ukraine and will continue to reject calls for more money spent on endless wars and killings.

We need to restrict Presidential Executive Orders to times of war or national emergencies ONLY, or do away with them altogether.
Michael, one of the key features of the Constitution is how it creates a separation of powers between the different branches of government. If it were not for this separation of powers, the Bill of Rights would be at risk, if not meaningless, because there would be no check by another branch to ensure that those rights are indeed being respected. It is our separation of powers and our system of checks and balances that makes our form of government truly unique and truly exceptional.
The undermining of our system of checks and balances by the abuse and misuse of executive orders should be alarming to every American. We’ve seen the consequences at the southern border when Biden misused executive orders to roll back President Trump’s border security policies. We’ve also witnessed the overreach by the executive branch by its land grab and designation of wide swaths of public land as “wilderness areas,” essentially closing them off from recreational use.
Many of Biden’s actions are clearly unlawful or blatantly unconstitutional. As a member of the Committee on Oversight and Accountability, I am doing what I can to hold him accountable and shine a light on this abuse of power.
