We have a real humanitarian crisis at our southern border. Republicans have taken action and provided a solution. Democrats have not. Ignoring this crisis diminishes the lives who have fallen victim to the crimes committed by illegal aliens, or are harmed because of illegal drugs flowing across the border. I will continue to fight for legislation that provides funding for a physical barrier on our southern border. For each minute and hour that passes that we fail to secure our border, we put the safety and security of our country in jeopardy.

This week I joined C-SPAN to discuss the current crisis at our southern border. WATCH HERE

Walls Work

It is time to protect our families, communities, and sovereignty. The Yuma sector of our border with Mexico was once one of the most heavily trafficked areas for illegal immigrants and smugglers. Following the completion of the wall in that sector, apprehensions in FY 2016 were one-tenth of what they were in FY 2005. Additionally, according to Yuma County Sheriff Leon Wilmot, the wall was responsible for a 91-percent drop in criminal activity in the sector.

Restoring Local Control

This week, I introduced two bills that aim to restore local control over Arizona land. The La Paz County Land Conveyance Act is a locally-driven solution that allows the County to take advantage of one of their best assets, sunshine, and pursue utility-scale solar energy production. If you want to learn more about how this bill will help La Paz County generate new revenues see HERE.

The Cottonwood Land Exchange Act would consolidate multiple checkerboards of land to benefit the people of Arizona. Learn more about how this legislation will benefit community members and families HERE.

Keeping in Touch

Thank you to everyone who was able to jump on the line this week for our telephone town hall. I’m always encouraged by the number of great ideas and questions that come from these events. The majority of our conversation focused on the much needed border security.
