Top Stories – Bullhead City, AZHappy Father’s Day! The power of a dad in a child’s life in unmatched.Gosar Introduces Bipartisan Legislation to Curb Foreign Meddling on ElectionsDespite laws barring foreigners from influencing American elections, a recent study found that foreign influence and corruption continues to undermine our elections. In response, this week, I joined a bipartisan group of lawmakers to introduce the Fighting Foreign Influence Act, legislation to crack down on foreign influence seeking to corrupt elections, government officials and think tanks.The legislation is a package of several common-sense provisions from both sides of the aisle including the Stop Foreign Donations Affecting Our Elections Act, standalone legislation I introduced last year. Here’s a quick summary:Title I, the Think Tank and Non-Profit Foreign Influence Disclosure Act, would require tax-exempt organizations, including think tanks, to publicly disclose any high-dollar gifts from foreign governments or foreign political parties. It then directs the Treasury Department to publish the total amount of such contributions from each foreign government and each foreign political party.Title II, the Congressional and Executive Foreign Lobbying Ban Act, would impose a lifetime ban on former senior U.S. military officers, presidents, vice presidents, other senior executive branch officials, and members of Congress from ever lobbying for a foreign principal.Title III, the Stop Foreign Donations Affecting Our Elections Act, would require political campaigns to verify that anyone making an online contribution has a valid US address (using credit cards’ three-digit CVV code) or are otherwise legally eligible to make a campaign contribution. This title would also prohibit foreign agents from fundraising for political campaigns.Click here to read the full text of the legislation.Lawbreakers Continue to Pour Across the Southern BorderThis week, the Department of Homeland Security announced that nearly 240,000 illegal aliens crossed our southern border in May, the highest ever.  Joe Biden’s disastrous open border policies have created the worst crisis along our border, yet he refuses to do a damn thing to address this growing problem.  More than 3.5 million lawbreakers have crossed our border since Biden took office.  Additionally, illicit drugs, including deadly fentanyl, continue to pour into our country through the southern border. Over 1,100 pounds, or 250 million deadly doses of fentanyl were seized at the border in May.  Americans are witnessing month-after-month of a record crisis at our southern border, all thanks to Biden’s reckless open border policies.  Over a year ago, I personally invited Biden to the southern border to see firsthand the crisis his policies have created.  He ignores my request and continues to turn his back on Americans.Gosar Votes to Protect Supreme Court JusticesLast week I wrote extensively about the attempted assassination of Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh and Speaker Pelosi’s efforts to stonewall passage of bi-partisan legislation that would provide improved security for the justices and their families. If you missed last week’s newsletter, I’ve got you covered.  HERE IT IS!Thankfully, after weeks of dithering, this week the House of Representatives finally passed the bill to step up security for our justices.  Every single Republican voted in support of this bill.  Shockingly, more than two dozen democrats voted against providing additional protection.  Their “nay” vote is unconscionable! Meanwhile, in clear act of domestic terrorism, more than 40 pro-life pregnancy centers across American have been attacked or vandalized by a pro-abortion domestic terrorist group called Jane’s Revenge since the leak of a draft Supreme Court opinion noting that the Supreme Court may finally overturn Roe v. Wade.  The terrorist group has warned of additional attacks in the days to come.  As I write, not a single member of Jane’s Revenge has been arrested nor has Speaker Pelosi condemned these violent actions. After wasting time seeking assistance from both Arizona Senators and getting no help, I decided to reach out to your office in December last year. In less than a month, Mr. Jeffrey Timm responded with the answers I had been looking for. He was able to obtain the information I needed and even provided a reference to Local Coverage Determination L38803 where Medicare's coverage criteria for my procedure is outlined and the billing code for my doctor. When I presented Mr. Timm's letter to my doctor he said "That is exactly what we have been needing".I apologize for not writing to you sooner, Mr. Gosar. I'm certain that I responded to Mr. Timm and thanked him for his prompt assistance, but wanted you to know also. That, however, has not changed my decision about voting for you in the upcoming election. I had already decided to vote for you :)Sheri, Abigale and Ray, thanks for your thoughtful words.  We are very happy to help and even more thrilled that everything worked out!More Disturbing Economic Indicators Portend a RecessionInflation continues to spiral out of control, rising to 8.6% in May.  In response the Federal Reserve raised interest rates by .75%, the most since 1994.  If you are looking to take out a home mortgage loan or car loan, you know how costly your monthly payments will be.  Gasoline prices continue to rise, with average prices over $5.00 per gallon.  The Dow industrial average continues to tank, dropping below 30,000 for the first time in years.The response from Joe Biden?  More of the same.  Despite wages going in the wrong direction and families being forced to pay more for everything, in an interview with the Associated Press this week (side note: his first in over four months) Joe Biden dismissed the threat of growing Bidenflation and doubled-down on his crippling tax hikes and runaway spending.
