Bullhead City, AZ – U.S. Representative Paul Gosar, D.D.S. (AZ-09) issued the following statement after Mr. Biden signed into law H.J. Res 7, legislation introduced by Congressman Gosar terminating the COVID-19 national emergency declaration:
“With Mr. Biden signing my bill, the emergency powers enacted to address the COVID-19 emergency have been terminated. It is my view, shared by Congress, and now Mr. Biden, that emergencies should be in place only as long as there is an ongoing emergency. The pandemic is over and has been. This termination is a great step forward towards economic and social recovery. Working with Speaker McCarthy and my colleagues was instrumental to its passage,” said Congressman Gosar.
Background:
H.J. Res 7, introduced by Congressman Gosar, terminates the COVID-19 national emergency declaration and thus terminates the extreme executive branch powers granted under that act that are now unnecessary and were abused by the Biden administration.
The legislation passed with bi-partisan support in the House of Representatives 229-197 on February 1, 2023 and then in the United States Senate 68-23 on March 29, 2023.
