U.S. Congressman Paul Gosar, DDS (AZ-01) is supporting the effort to encourage bipartisan seating at the State of the Union address and is urging his colleagues to join him.

“The American people want their Members of Congress to put partisan politics aside and address the critical challenges facing our nation,” said Gosar.  “I encourage all of my colleagues to join me in supporting the effort to have Democrats and Republicans sitting together, united, at the President’s State of the Union rather than the status quo.  This symbolic gesture will set the tone for the 112th Congress and show our constituents we are capable of respectfully debating the issues and working together to find solutions to the problems of the day.”

The letter to both Republican and Democrat leadership encouraging the integration has been spearheaded by Senator Mark Udall (D-NM) and Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), and is supported by Arizona’s Senior Senator John McCain (R-AZ).  As of this morning, Congressman Gosar was the first member of the Arizona House Delegation and Republican freshmen class to sign on to the letter.

Dr. Paul Gosar is serving his first term in Congress as the Representative to Arizona’s First Congressional District.  As a healthcare provider and small business owner, Gosar is focused on bringing jobs back to the district, reforming health care, reining in government spending and ensuring that his constituents are involved in the solution process.  For more information, visit his website at www.gosar.house.gov.
