Congressman Gosar Commends Luke AFB on Joint Strike Fighter Mission Assignment

The Joint Strike Fighter mission cements Arizona’s vital role in our nation’s national security and Luke AFB’s status as a major economic engine for our community.

Washington, D.C. ­– U.S. Congressman Paul Gosar issued the following statement on the U.S. Air Force’s decision to base three Air Force F-35A Lightning II (Joint Strike Fighter) training squadrons at Luke Air Force Base in Glendale, Arizona.

"Today’s announcement is exciting news for all Arizonans.  The U.S. Department of Defense’s assignment of an F-35-A Lightning II training mission to Luke Air Force Base cements Arizona’s vital role in our nation’s national security and the base’s status as a major economic engine for our community.”

“I would like to thank the brave men and women that serve at Luke and our community for their steadfast support of this important mission.  Today’s decision was the result of a true state-wide team effort.”
