Arizona One Step Closer to Getting Paid

Today, U.S. Congressman Paul A. Gosar, D.D.S. (AZ-04) issued the following statement after the House Natural Resources Committee held a markup and passed favorably the Protecting States, Opening National Parks Act (H.R.3286), legislation that would ensure states that used their funds to operate National Parks during the federal government shutdown are reimbursed:

"Without necessity, Arizona's economy lost millions of dollars in economic activity because President Obama, Majority Leader Reid and Minority Leader Pelosi refused to negotiate with Republicans to end October’s shutdown. States like Arizona stepped up to keep sites like the Grand Canyon open at their own expense but they must be repaid. Today’s markup is an important step in ensuring that states that did the federal government’s job during the shutdown are fully reimbursed."

Rep. Gosar is a member of the House Natural Resources Committee and an original cosponsor of H.R.3286.
