No Significant Impact for Central ND Water Supply Project
According to the Department of Interior, the Bureau of Reclamation conducted and completed an environmental assessment for the Central North Dakota Water Supply Project. Subsequently, they have released The Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI).

Western Caucus Monthly Staff Meeting
On Thursday, the Western Caucus Foundation hosted its Monthly Staff Meeting which involved a spirited discussion on wildfires, mining, the Farm Bill, and 3D mapping.
 Staff members also heard updates from the Office of Speaker Paul Ryan, the U.S. Department of Energy, the House Committee on Natural Resources, Lockheed Martin, Think Policy Consulting, LLC, and the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). 





House Passes Bills Cultivating Public Land Exchanges and Conservation
On Wednesday, the House passed numerous bills that were introduced by several Western Caucus members, including Chairman Gosar. These bills will encourage transparency, cultivate land exchanges, and ensure conservation.

US Becomes World's Largest Oil Producer, Authorizes Short Term Natural Gas Exports
On Thursday, the Energy Information Administration estimated in their latest Short-Term Energy Outlook that the United States is the largest crude oil producer, surpassing the crude oil production of Saudi Arabia and Russia. The Department of Energy also announced that it authorized short-term gas exports for the Freeport LNG project on September 6th.
