Rep. Paul Gosar Celebrates Congressional Art Contest

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Congressman Paul A. Gosar, D.D.S. (AZ-04) hosted the 2018 Congressional Art Contest Award Ceremony and Reception in Wickenburg, Arizona this past Saturday. Local high school students displayed their artwork for the public, and awards were presented for the winning pieces of art. The winner of the online, public contest known as the “People’s Art Choice Awards” was also recognized with an award.

"The Congressional Art Competition is a wonderful contest that encourages artistic talent from Arizona and across the country," said Congressman Gosar. "This year, I was inspired by the creativity and talent each submission displayed. I am happy to announce the first place winner, Trevor Fuller from Mingus Union High School with “The Fuller Barn.” I am thankful for all the teachers for encouraging and guiding the students in this year’s competition."

Trevor Fuller from Mingus Union High School won first place for "The Fuller Barn," which will be on display in the Capitol for one year alongside winners from other congressional districts. See HERE.
Brittany Shaffer from Kingman High School won second place for “Color Of A Country Girl.”

Abigail Bredernitz from Kingman High School won third place for “Watches.” See HERE.
Levi Parker from Mingus Union High School received Honorable Mention for "Release." See HERE.
Maiah Meza from Gila Ridge High School, was announced as the winner of the "People's Art Choice Awards" for "A Menace." Maiah’s piece will be displayed for one year in Rep. Gosar's congressional office. See HERE.

93 pieces were submitted for the contest and over 1,375 ballots were cast in the online competition.
