WASHINGTON D.C. - Representative Paul A. Gosar, D.D.S. (AZ-04) issued the following statement after voting against raising the debt ceiling another $2.5 trillion.
“In the wee hours of this morning, so America couldn’t see this dastardly act, the United States House of Representatives voted to raise the debt ceiling by a whopping $2.5 trillion dollars, the single largest debt ceiling increase enacted by Congress.
Congress should not be hiking the debt ceiling one single penny. Democrats' out-of-control spending is unsustainable. We are already feeling the impact of record high inflation on everyday goods and services. Simply issuing never-ending new debt to pay for existing debt is nonsensical and irresponsible. Therefore, I voted no,” concluded Congressman Gosar.
